I have two catnip bushes that look like they won;t be coming back this year, but two that are doing well. I don;t know how many years they come back, but these two I've only had two years. I have seeds started, but I can never seem to grow them from seed. This year I'm trying again, though.

How's the garden season looking for everyone? I have sunflowers started inside, about 4 inches high. I planted 7 varieties. I am a certified sunflower nut.

Last year chipmunks munched on my young sunflowers, so this year I put a little fence around them till they were a foot high. Only a few that were shorter and, I assume, more tender,were eaten. My backyard is fenced so no deer can get in. The only other thing that seems to be attractive is my beans along the edge of my garden. They are destroyed now except fot the ones bordering my catnip plants.

I had one canna lilly in a pot last year. Before summer was over, I had 5, and then when I dug up the bulbs, there were 2 dozen more bulbs. I'll have tons of lillies this year.

I'm getting in the mood for gardening now!
