Ground Ivy

I think this is the best link I've found on how to get rid of Ground Ivy, and it still isn't easy but it can be done if you are persistent.

I'm going to try a home made spray on mine as an experiment. I mixed it up and hubby sprayed along the edge of the driveway. Killed everything much better than Round Up with no chemical residue. It's over our well area so I'd rather risk this than regular weed killer.

 

1 Gallon white vinegar

1 C Salt

2 Tsp dish detergent

2 tbl rubbing alcohol

 

Mix together. Rinse sprayer mechanism in clear water after use.

 

I'll experiment with the Borax next spring.

I would have to kill my entire yard, I have that much of it.

And that combination would kill everything in your yard. Be warned that it will not leave your grass and other plants alive.

Yes, it kills much better than Round Up! Grass, moss, weeds, prized roses, etc. This is definitely a swat approach but if it was done in small areas, then reseeded in a week I think it might work. Ground Ivy doesn't like thick turf. It all depends on how desperate you are to get it out of a specific area.
