Deputies determined that Dwight Edwards had been coercing children into trading sexual favors for cash. MARION, Ark. — A Marion man is now facing serious charges including nine counts of sexual extortion and human trafficking following a two-week investigation. GREEN BAY, Wis. - Brown County prosecutors released a criminal complaint against a Green Bay man that describes horrific acts against women as part of 11 criminal charges against Malik Moore. Moore, 28, is charged with three counts of human trafficking, another three of bail jumping, sexual assault, keeping a place of prostitution, battery, and mistreatment of animals. The complaint against Moore is over 21 pages long.

Vernon-Enola School District employee Friday following a months-long investigation into allegations centering on child pornography. According to the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, 31-year-old Blair Michael Williams of Bigelow is facing felony charges of distributing, possessing or viewing sexually explicit content involving a child, computer exploitation of a child and sexually explicit conduct involving children following a six-month investigation.

▫️Man from Alabama sentenced to 60 years, ordered to pay over $950,000 in restitution for sex trafficking scheme involving forced prostitution
U.S. District Court Judge R. Austin Huffaker Jr. of the Middle District of Alabama sentenced defendant Lonnie Mitchell, 36, of Montgomery, Alabama, to 60 years in prison for coercing several victims, including a minor, to engage in prostitution over the course of several years. The judge also ordered the defendant to pay over $950,000 in restitution to the victims. In June 2022, following a five-day trial, a jury convicted the defendant of sex trafficking five victims by force, fraud, and coercion. The jury also found the defendant guilty of sex trafficking a minor, and three counts of coercing and enticing an individual to travel in interstate commerce for prostitution purposes.

Correspondence introduced as part of the lawsuit shows Rivera and Gorrin discussing buying “concert tickets” — a possible code word for bribes — to unnamed officials and attempting to coordinate a meeting between Venezuela’s foreign minister and executives from the U.S. oil company Exxon.

▫️FedEx driver arrested in kidnapping, murder of 7-year-old girl - Body of kidnapped 7 year old Athena Strand recovered
Athena was reported missing Wednesday and authorities launched a search for her across Wise County, located northwest of Fort Worth. Authorities believe the young girl was killed within an hour after her kidnapping from her family's driveway, which is about 200 yards from her home. Tanner Lynn Horner, 31, is being held in Wise County jail on capital murder and aggravated kidnapping charges, according to its website. Bond was set at $1.5 million. Paradise, Texas: At a news conference held last night at about 11:00 pm EST, Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin announced that the body of missing 7-year-old Athena Strand had been recovered. NOVI, Mich. — A man is behind bars and facing upwards of 20 years in prison for alleging trying to solicit a minor for sex online in Oakland County. The Oakland County Sheriff confirms the arrest of a man, who they're not naming at this point, on Thursday. The sheriff's office says he was arrested on a four-count felony, which included one count of child sexually abusive activity, one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Police say the arrest was due in part to tips and information from a Pontiac man named Robert Lee. Lee says after being inspired by YouTube accounts like Dads Against Predators, he set up a Facebook page where he pretends to be a 15-year-old girl. Once alleged predators reach out to him, Lee says he forwards the conversations to police in hopes of an arrest.

On Dec. 21, 2022, Luture Marquese Evans was taken into custody. He bonded out of jail on Jan. 3 after a judge reduced Evans' bond amount from $750,000 to $250,000. Officers are still searching for more victims in the case against Evans.

A traffic stop by Pennsylvania State Police in Fairview Township led to the arrest of a Bensalem man, Antonio Richard Green Jr., 35, for human trafficking. A “cybertip” led police to a retired fire chief’s home in Pennsylvania where they uncovered a collection of child pornography, investigators said. Records from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy show John Richard Williams was a deputy at the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office from July 14, 2003, to Nov. 28, 2005.
