  1. DEP Approves Report Detailing Cause of Advanced Disposal Services Greentree Landfill 2017 Slope Failure Meadville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced today that it has approved Advanced Disposal Services Greentree Landfill, LLC’s (Advanced Disposal) “Root Cause Report” detailing Advanced Disposal’s investigation and conclusion regarding the cause of the slope failure on February 8, 2017, at the Greentree Landfill in Kersey, Elk County. DEP required Advanced Disposal to conduct the investigation and submit the Root Cause Report under a Consent Order and Agreement between the DEP and Advanced Disposal dated November 30, 2017. Experts hired by Advanced Disposal prepared the Root Cause Report and concluded that the placement of non-conventional waste streams within the Greentree Landfill, including low shear strength sludges, and other operational factors created conditions that caused the February 8, 2017 slope failure. Industry experts hired by DEP to review the Root Cause Report did not contest the conclusions and DEP approved the Root Cause Report. The Consent Order and Agreement also required Advanced Disposal to remediate the slope failure area, consent to restrictions on sludge acceptance, and pay a civil penalty of $600,000. Advanced Disposal later agreed to a modification of the agreement that included $95,000 in additional penalties. Advanced Disposal continues to remediate the area of the slope failure at Greentree Landfill. The penalties were paid into the Solid Waste Abatement Fund, which is used to address problems at abandoned landfills, help to address littering and anti-dumping initiatives.
  2. I was laughing at her forehead this morning, her father has the same exact lines. 😂 Faith Marie was bright eyed & looking around at her surroundings, so her mommy decided to get pics of her forehead.
  3. Peanut gained another 2oz this week. She is up to 4# 7oz now. She also pulled her feeding tube out this morning, but she has been taking a bottle that is equal to what she was given through the feeding tube. As long as she continues to take a bottle, she won’t need the feeding tube. 🙏🏻
  4. No, that was a gift from the NICU nurses.
  5. I’m so happy you got to meet Peanut in the NICU. ❤️
  6. As told by her mother Brandi... So many of you have been wondering how Faith is doing. Thank you all for your thoughts prayers and support through this journey. Faith had a rough start since being brought into this world and been through more than most adults. She was born full term via c section due to being breech. Her head was under my ribs and she wouldn’t turn. When she came out she did pretty well Tuesday then on Wednesday she started having episodes of apnea. Her brain wasn’t sending signals to her lungs to breathe. She was put on a cpap then by Thursday she was placed on a ventilator. Friday we were told that she has trisomy 18, Edwards Syndrome which is a rare chromosomal defect. There is no cure, no fix, it just is. These babies have short life spans. They are lucky if they live past the first 6-9days of life. By Saturday the ventilator was doing all the breathing for her and Deryk and I had to make a heart breaking decision. That’s not a life living on a vent for the rest of her days. But our little girl wasn’t done fighting yet, she was not done living! The vent was discontinued, she opened her eyes and breathed! She was placed on monitors to track her oxygen, heart rate and respiration’s. We waited another week to see how she would do. No more episodes of apnea! We went through a week of education and learning how to care for once she came home. Our hope was restored! She would come home! Our Faith is now 2 weeks old and defying the odds! Our Faith is a true testimony that there is power in prayer! ❤️ I also have to say that the staff at Penn Highlands DuBois NICU and maternity are amazing people! We couldn’t have gotten this far without them! They went above and beyond their call of duty and made whatever accommodations for Faith, us and our family. They have been a God send for us and we are forever grateful to them. 💝
  7. He really needs a day at the dentist, then off to the salon to get that "hair" tamed down, a pedi & a mani, & then some hot cider. Great pics Gator!!
  8. Two names came to mind - 1. Morticia 2. Flower
  9. No ticks on the dogs at all. The ducks will NOT eat Japanese Beetles or gypsy moth worms!!
  10. I have some on my rose bush. I also have the ducks swimming pool on the top of the steps landing. I filled the pool one day with fresh water & the next day I had these weird bugs in it. My hubby said those are Japanese Beetles with the color taken out of them from the water.
  11. Poor Bentley!! I hope people are listening to this family's heartbreaking story!!
  12. I already got my answer to the question, I just don't want to believe it. I put the ducks away at night.
  13. But how did she get untied? They are all tethered, & that morning my hubby said Cranky & Ivy were all tangled up. Took him 10-15 min to untangle them. Patsy's tether was straight out with the feathers by it. Yesterday morning a red fox was killed at 4:50am in front of my driveway. ☺
  14. My hubby text me this message on Thursday morning- "I fear foul play has met one of our ducks." Patsy was gone!! She was untied, a few feathers on the ground, a very small cluster of feathers with some blood on it. I say someone stole her, my hubby says a fox or other animal got her. He thinks he was funny with the text he sent me, along with most people. I don't think he was funny at all. I like my ducks!!!
  15. They were in a pen that we moved around once a week. What a pain in the butt!! They are almost what you would call free range ducks. They are in grass, no rocks, or stones.
  16. Thinking my ducks need grit. They are in grass all the time & I read it helps with their food digestion.
  17. No way!!! Think I found someone who wants them.
  18. I still have the 2 duck eggs in the fridge. How long are the good for?
  19. I got the 2 eggs & that is it. Patsy or/& Ivy quit laying. Don't know why.
  20. Got another egg today. So far there are no takers on the eggs. These ducks do not require a pool, they don't have the oil glands that all other ducks have. We will see once we get their house built.
  21. What do you mean for ",bait"?
