  1. i obviously bought way to many plants this year. I am like a kid in a candy store when it comes to peppers and tomatoes. I have 80 tomatoes(6 varieties) and 184 pepper plants( how many different well you name it I got it LOL).  Now where to plant them all. I got all the tomatoes in and 32 of the peppers. I didnt want to start until the fence was up. The deer have already ate the tops off the sweet potatoes and nibbled the strawberry plants down. They haven't touch the horseradish, rubbard or onions.

  2. A new born fawn. Mama hid her just inside the woods behind the garden. Must have known she was safe there with the dogs guarding her when they go out LOL  Not sure if this is a pic of mama or not she was on other side of house. we have several does that use the property. she may have been a different mama and had her young on that side of the house.  My wife was throwing some branches in the woods when she spied he hiding in the thicket behind the birds nest with eggs. They will be new additions also pretty soon. If you look down the middle of the garden and alittle to the left beside a tree at the edge of the woods you can just make out a scrubby looking bush. The eggs are in there and the fawn just a few feet further in.

  3. My fathers has a grape arbor that is six 6x6 posts with frame work built on top. Its dimensions are about 16'x16' - 7' high with a cement pad built underneath. Very easy to pick the grapes and also serves as an excellent shady place to sit under and eat outside in the Summer. He keeps them trimmed back as needed.

This is what I was thinking of trying to make. Maybe not in my lifetime but hopefull others could enjoy it after I am gone.

  4. I planted some grapes last year and plan on planting more. I need some advice on building a trellis type for them. specically if you know where I can find the posts. I thought about redwood posts and then adding to it later on to make it kinda like a pergula (sp) with the grapes hanging down. Anyone with pics of their Grapes and hanging system would be appreciated. I have been online and saw many different styles but thought IO would ask people on here for their input on what works best for them.

  5. Our pets expect us to do our best for them. It is not fair to them to allow them to needlessly suffer. We are doing our duty and showing our love when we help them exit this life. It is hard. I'm sorry and feel your pain.

    My sentiments exactly.

  6. Sorry to hear about your mother in laws and your loss of a beloved member of your family. Animals do melt your heart and for those of us who understand we feel your pain.  I must say i did get choked up reading your posts. I thought back to several of my own dogs that I lost and have been dreading the day when one or more of my three I have now passes. I will at least know that they will not be alone as the other dogs will be there when we are not.

My last dog passed away by himself. We were at work and came home to find him. I had him to the vet just three days prior but there was no indication he was going to pass that soon or at all. we knew the leg was cancerous and thought he was going to have to have it amputated but it was not to be. He was lying by the front door waiting for us to come home. I still tear up knowing he died alone and wishing I had been with him in his final moments.

  7. http://www.abatepa.org/Events/State_Party.html

You already said the address. Their annual party if this is the one you are talking about is held on Eagles nest road. The falls Creek Eagles owns this property I believe you could contact them or the pa abate chapter. They still have this Abate state party there at Eagles Nest every year. Their contact info is below.

Egytp road is just off route 28 between Brookville and Brockway. If coming in from Brookville side North 28 its a few miles past the flea market. You could turn up Egypt road and then Eagles nest is on right or you could just go past Egpyt road and turn left onto Eagles nest.  Looks like you would be coming in from Brockway. It is about 7or 8 miles out of Brockway on right side. After the long straight stretch you will have a right curve, then a little ways up a left curve. You will go up over the hill and just as you are cresting down over the road is on the right. Small dirt road.

Here is a map of the road

  8. I can't understand why more people who claim to see him do not do this. Like the guy in Bradford in his car. he should have gotten out and ran up to whatever it was and gotten better pics. I know if I see one Im going after it especially if I have a camera.    This guy running makes it believable but then you have the blurry pics again. LOL

  9. My tomatoes plants were huge but they did not produce much. I believe that pepper was a King Authur and didn't feed them anything. I use mushroom compost and thats it. If they grow they grow if not well there is always next year. I go out and look at the garden but I do not use any chemicals. Heck I dont even like weeding so I put weed barrier down. It may have been the pool water LOL A hose broke on my pool and I lost all the water down to the return nozzle. it flooded my garden the pepper area anyway. I thought for sure everything would die off.
