  1. At least we KNOW Tom Mix was real...we have him on film.
  2. It's one thing to make a fool of yourself..To include the whole area is another matter...Oh, I know, it's all just good fun...
  3. The Quiet Woman....no I was never in there. Annie Vitarelli's on Dixon ...no never in there either.
  4. PETA member Saves Four Eggs from Certain Death.....P.S. If yolks and whites were meant to be separated, they would come in separate shells...... Four innocent lives saved by PETA member.. TIJUANA, MEXICO (The Global Edition)
  5. Yes...I could easily find it myself..Just trying to place it for others from my memory of being there. There must have been a large community near there, it has a real story to tell about the area, just as Beechwoods and Rumbarger, Salem, Luthersburg Cemeteries, and many more around the area.
  6. Interesting ...I didn't know about a Baptist cemetery. I looked for Buleah Land cemetery on google earth. While Beech Street and the area between Main and Wayne Road, is very detailed, I couldn't see exactly where the cemetery is. It is closer to Wayne Road, than Main St., as I remember.
  7. Yes...those are very good pics. of it.
  8. It is a spooky place. Many of the graves have been taken over by the surrounding woods, though the main portion of it sem to get some care... It does look like a Stephen King movie set. It's not a place you would find, unless you were looking for it..I don't know of any ghost sightings, maybe you have to believe in them to see them...
  9. I bet that would make a sticky mess on everything .......Why not just get Fabreeze??
  10. That's Rick Santorum's home town.
  11. Made with a couple slabs of warm home made bread, and real butter...miracle whip is ok, but I like mayonnaise better...
  12. History?....Hey, that was only 60 years ago....:ty:...for the memories..
  13. Bleeding hearts?..Are they individual heart shaped buds hanging in a row?..Kinda heard to see..
  14. Insulting others really isn't the way to make yourself look better..
  15. Just plain heartless?? really?
  16. It's private property posted "No Trespassing". On a dead end private driveway. You don't 'drive by'..You are trespassing...{breaking the law]
  17. That's what I said months ago...Reality is not easy to accept, when you have an agenda...
  18. It might be a good idea to clear up some wrong ideas here. The house is privately owned, as is the drive up to the property. It is in an extremely advanced state of disrepair, and decay. It is completely grown over with weeds and brush... The last time I was inside it, some years ago, there was a real danger of the floors falling through...It is posted "NO TRESPASSING", and is condemned as unsafe to enter...Sight seeing is not a good idea..
  19. Which, of course, brings us back around full circle to my origional post...With a cemetery this old, how many decendents are still around, and how far removed are they from the origional grave occupants? And how many are willing to donate money and labor to such an effort.. My guess....Zero to None...Expectations for anything more is wishful thinking..The 60+ year old dilemma concerning the cemetery is proof of that...
  20. You are refering to Morningside Cemetery. It is a beautifully kept and maintained cemetery. I don't know the details of the fund that makes it possible, but I am sure individuals could not do it by voluntary efforts alone...It is maintained by a source that is secure for the operation of the cemetery, through investing the money, and careful spending by the trustees. Unlike more "modern" cemeteries, such as Lakelawn near Reynoldsville, monuments and headstones, are of course, the norm. This complicates the grass cutting and maintenance. Lakelawn doesn't permit markers that are above the grass height, which of course, makes cutting easy. We have many well tended cemeteries, such as Salem Cemetery, Beechwoods Cemetery, just to name a few..But Morningside, in my opinion, is the best example of a professionally maintained facility...
  21. I reserve the right to have different priorities than you. I don't see why that bothers you so much...The fact that I voiced it? You go and do what you feel compelled to do, and don't fret and anguish about what I, or other people do, or don't do....A few posters here get bent out of shape when someone volunteers anything that they don't agree with...I'm speaking for myself. I don't care if you work on the cemetery, or not. If anyone shows up to help you, great. "It doesn't matter to me"?....Right...Get over it....
