Thank you, lavender!

I way up off the road.

I wonder if this is what is behind all my blue spruce trees dying. However, it is the bottom limbs on my trees that are losing all their needles and it works its way up from there. Does anyone know about this? Can I save my trees? My other trees, evergreens included, are not affected.

Love the pics and that sweet doggie!

Where exactly is this? I've been to a similar cemetery off the road between Falls Creek and Reynoldsville.

Much sympathy to you and yours Kikibaugh. I feel your loss. Chewy will always be with you, no matter how much time goes by. He is in your heart.

Thanks for the post! As residents, our family has a lot of history here. It's cool to see what once was.

Prayers for your pup. Lumps are scary. I'm a dog lover and own 3. I have lost some along the way, too. Please let us know how your dog makes out at the vet. We anxiously await. Hugs to you and doggie.

Wish I could help. My family is from there and my grandfather worked mines there. He passed a few years back, and may have had some info. I'm going to follow this. Hope you get what you need.

If it tastes like butter, I want it!

Are there any pics of the main street where we can see the similar houses on both sides? I used to visit my Aunt and niece who lived there years ago. They lived in an old "company" house on the edge of town, and my niece's gram lived there, too. It was a very interesting place, and I liked going there and hearing it's history.

This is for Roger Natti. If one truly understood how wonderful it was in heaven, one would not want to stay here on earth one more second. I can say with all truthfulness and conviction, based on what I have read in the Bible, it's not going to be boring!

I am so sorry for your loss. I miss my 11 year old Sheltie mix, Riley, who departed this world on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. He was my faithful friend and was always with me. He will always have a special place in my heart.

I'm inclined to agree with fox fan. Me maw, have you actually used this recipe?

Much sympathy to you! We are so blessed to have these dear ones share our lives.

Mining for coal is much safer nowadays. Most of the mines around here are surface mines, which are much safer. The Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration heavily patrols and regulates all area mines. This is still a thriving industry and provides many jobs for people in this area. Coal is also a less expensive energy source.

If I were you I would get in touch with a local nursery or grower for advice.
Dogs Really Do Get Jealous, Scientists Say

I have 3 female dogs, and there is always a little jealousy. Usually, it's my scrappy beagle that wins. The other two usually back down. The longer they are together, the easier it gets. When they first met, it was hard.
