Ridge Rider
it's hard to see from the photo, do they look like these? http://www.google.com/images?rlz=1T4GGLL_enUS374US374&q=texas+bluebonnet&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=jToYTPDnN4OclgeroKmZDA&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCkQsAQwAA
Petee
Nope, I think it's got to be the Clustered Bellflowers. I'd give it my vote now that I've seen the picture and the actual flower.

I think your right, I pulled up a close up photo of the bellflowers with leaves and the leaves look to be the same as in the photo.
lavender
Bluebonnets are lupines. There is no mistaking the leaves. They are whorled around the stem.
Petee
This is why I love this forum! I got out of the van tonight, saw some purple flowers in the pots of stuff left from the plant sale, brought it in and now we have an identification for more pots of stuff that the tags faded out on over the winter! Clustered Bellflower it is! I dragged it in, took its picture and now we can divide it for next year once it's done flowering.
