Colorado Blue Spruce

I want to form a "wall" using this beautiful tree. Privacy screen in summer and wind/snow break in the winter. How close should I plant them??  They mature at 25' so maybe 16' so they grow into each other??

Spruce grows very slowly, so depending on how soon you want privacy, you may want to use something like Hemlock which can easily be pruned into a hedge and grows faster.

 

Otherwise, definitely plant in consideration of the full size of the tree.

 

You may also want to consider that you may have one or more die.  I lost a very good sized Spruce this summer.  It just DIED!  Ugh.

Six feet is recommended for a screen.

This is not the world's greatest reference but all I could find. When you plant a privacy screen or windbreak the idea is to have the trees grow into each other. Blue spruce doesn't grow very fast so maybe that is why they suggest putting them so close together.
