My SIL & I went to Hyndman today to get SOB her puppy today. Was nice ride down, left around 7:30 this morning & got there at 10.  SOB named her puppy Midge, she is beautiful!!! Also a well behaved puppy in the car, she slept 99% of the time.
 

 
They also had a long haired weenie. I sent the pic to my hubby of her, but we had to go towards MD to get cell reception down there. Finally we were able to send the pic. We turned around and was about 1/2 hour from Hyndman when I got a text from him ... OMG!!! Next thing I know the phone is ringing & Amy answered it for me, I heard him say "I want that dog!!"  Long story short, he text me when we were in Roaring Springs & asks how many dogs were in the car, I said 3, we had Wiener Dog with us. So we also got a new weenie today also. She is gorgeous!!! She is NOT like her sister, she is trouble in the car!! lol
 

And if you tend to "overcook" the kraut 'till it turns a golden brown, there is a savory taste not to be relished with each bite.

We had a fair size colony, counted close to 80, then it got too dark to count the rest.  Watched for their exit spot.  Luckily we had only one entrance/exit for it being such an old house.  We put up a bat house in the flight path, but a bit lower.  In the fall, when we stopped seeing them, we sealed up the entrance, and removed all the guano.  Complete haz-mat suit, recommended full face mask, filters.  Got an old shop vac, swept and shoveled into bags, some into the garden, the rest a friend took for his gardens.  Next year we had no bats.  Second year, we moved the bat house further from the old area, and they moved into the bat house.  It was good to see them back, we were afraid we had chased them off completely.  There are companies that will remove them, but its pricey.  We just read everything we could, and were lucky enough to do it right.

life is not fair - Maggie's ears are pretty well cleared up. All pink again and the gunky stuff is just about gone. She has stopped digging at them.  We'll keep using it a few more days then wait for a while and see what happens.  I did find it cheaper at Drs. Foster-Smith web page, $12.99 for the same size bottle that PetMed had on sale for $23.99.  Thank you for sharing this.
