  1. Thanks, Petee. I was planning to ask you about this.
  2. City park was originally town dump.
  3. Whoever wants to put up money and erect a headstone, fine. No one will. I would avoid a lot of flowers because they make it harder maintain with mowing, don't they?
  4. Amazing that the city is worried about trees, but not at all about the condition of some sidewalks. They are pretty treacherous in places.
  5. Can this organization become a United Way org, or did I miss that on the thread?
  6. The sign is PERFECT. Great job, Rumbarger Society! Kudos, props, bravo, and all that jazz!
  7. The peace lily from my dad's funeral three years ago....finally bloomed again.
  8. So far so good....I didn't get any last year, just that septuria or septurium, but my fruit was great. Knock on wood!
  9. I believe you have to snip off the bulbous ends at the top, and that will keep them growing-- at least that's what I was told to do with the garlic I planted. I don't know if wild garlic will be different.
  10. Wow! Interesting...painstaking research. Thank you.
  11. Get the city to admit it owns it....or know who actually does. It seems whenever the city doesn't want to deal with something, it claims it can't "find" the owner: brewery, Wilson School, Rumbarger....
  12. I'm sure you all love your pets and would do anything for them. It's just a sad fact that cats that are outdoors are far more likely to be injured or killed.
  13. People who really love cats don't let them go outside.
  14. Our house was built in 1890-something for the then yardmaster of the BR and P in DuBois. They lived there for over fifty years.
  15. I've been lucky so far-- just septorium, or something, on the leaves, which hasn't affected the fruit. I seem to get it every year. My neighbor and I wonder if our tomatoes may be catching it from an old flowering crabapple tree which seems to have the same affliction.
