  2. We have had fewer birds this year also......except for the doves....nearly 20 of those. We have had a couple tufted titmouse, a couple blue jays, a couple of juncos and 1 squirrel. We thought maybe the doves were intimidating the smaller birds so we added a hanging feeder. No visitors except for one woodpecker and just one time. We started feeding later this year so maybe they just found a better food source at someone else's house?

  3. Have you tried spraying with vinegar? ( 1 part vinegar, 3 parts water and 2 teaspoons dawn dishwashing detergent). The problem with this is that this mixture will kill everything it touches, but if you want to knock out the green part without waiting for a frost, it does work. You still have to dig out the roots though or it comes back.

  4. Both the Animal Hospital on Shaffer rd and Animal Health Services on the Salem Oklahoma Rd  have very kind and caring vets. We went through this last year with our lab. It's so hard. We probably waited too long. We did find that if you use a towel as a sling under her belly, it helped her to get down the steps to go outside. Dogs are also allowed to have baby aspirin.
