Just a thought....a couple of years ago, we had such a cold winter that we lost about a quarter of out dogwood tree, part of our tree peony, and some of our perennials. It could be still suffering from that winter.

I finally had time to clean the kids romper room and fill the feeders.  They are going outside on Sunday!

The coop that I almost lost my hand building last summer.  This year it is surrounded by planting beds and has a composting area in the back.  I'll try to remember to take a good picture of it tomorrow or Friday.
 
Last weekend one grandson graduated in Gettysburg, this week we got a new great grandson, the plant sale is all this week, and tomorrow I have another granddaughter graduating down near Altoona.  Busy, busy!
 

I honestly don't know. The feathered antennae and chubby body mean it's a moth not a butterfly but I don't know what kind.

Polyphemus Moth ??  I have had several at my house as of late. They hang out on my porch, seems like they cant fly to well. or more Correctly, Cant find direction to well .Sometimes I see them all green in color.Which i think is the Luna Moth. Notice they have arms, almost like a Bat.

If anyone else is like me and looks for minute details in the pictures, the chick that looks like it needs a proper cleaning does. That is a phenomena with a highly scientific name called "pasty butt". Some chicks will get a little buildup in their fluff for the first couple of weeks, and you have to dip them in warm water and clean it. It can actually dry to the point that it impedes...progress... and make the chicks sick.

That's a good idea, but what Petee said is right. Odd colors like that encourage pecking. When I am hatching chicks from multiple pens of the same breeds, I toe punch. It's not as bad as it sounds, and the marks last forever. It's like a tiny hole punch that clips the webbing between their toes. You can mark birds from several pens and roosters using a combination of left foot/right foot and first or second web. I wouldn't recommend that for just identifying a small number of birds, but it's great for breeding. When the chicks are sold, the buyer and I can track the lineage and base future breeding matches on what has worked in the past

It was suggested not to do that since the chicks might try to peck it off and either ingest the polish or peck each other.  First I tried spiraled plastic twist ties but they immediately started messing with them and I was afraid they would swallow one.

Calico Casserole
 
24 oz frozen mixed veg
1 box stove top stuffing
1 cup each chopped onion and celery
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1cup mayo ( miracle whip or hellmans
 
Mix together and put in greased/pamed casserole dish
Melt one stick of butter/margarine in 1 cup of water
Pour margarine/water mix over stuffing/veg mixture
Bake 45 minutes at 350'

They seem to be very comfortable.  My last chicks slept all huddled up in a ball.  These kids just stretch out and go to sleep.

I just got their bracelets this morning and I need a hand to get them ready for their pictures.  Hubby is away at a VFW meeting and I'm waiting for his help.  Be patient although they are cute as bugs.

So it all comes down to this...it seems all you're after are "chick pics". BWAHAHAHAHAHA

Petee, all of DooBwa and part of upstate SC are waiting to see your chicks. I'll give you until tomorrow to produce, or I'll start posting pics of their brothers and sisters
