Capabilities, knowledge of the law along with accounting.
So, then why does he work out of his house in DuBois, PA if he’s so great?

On the level of Pittsburgh attorneys? Please explain.

The funniest quote of this article is that Judge Paul Cherry had to recuse himself. NO JOKE! Thanks to his sister. His career in most probably is done too. Mom and Dad rolling in the grave.
They're not brother and sister.

Community Days at the park has alot of booths with " cashiers handling the money " keep an eye on these and report any suspicious characters and deeds to this forum please. might shine a light on " STUFF ".
Volunteers and friendship are not doing a booth this year. Not sure of the other departments. It’s going to be a pretty slim spread for food. Probably not as many free handouts either.

The City will need to determine how much money they have left to fund the baseball events after figuring the cost of the criminal defense and pay to the suspended city manager.
Maybe they can eliminate the healthcare and deductible payments for the no work council and mayor to fill any budget gaps.
My point exactly. Bye bye World Series.

The USCAC has a contract through 2026 or 2027 (not exactly sure). Considering some of the places that have hosted this, they will be staying for a while. When I worked for Penn Highlands, we provided Athletic Training services for both tournaments. Everyone that I talked to was very pleased with the facilities and all the City had to offer.
There are also specific demands this organization has that the city must meet each year or they can pull the plug. With everything going on with council and the management, are they willing to make the improvements and/or negotiate a new contract?

I would be willing to bet that within the next couple years, both the baseball and softball will relocate.

On the surface it's great, but the potential underground reasons are the question.
Then let’s let all these events that take place leave. I’m sure other areas would take them.

Regardless of the City nonsense that is going on, Dubois has a good thing for the community going on. 20 teams will be here visiting from around the country.. Eating, Lodging and spending money. Go to a game, Help out for an hour or 2 in the Concession stands. This is a big money maker for local business. Which employs PEOPLE. The area can not afford to lose this. It also looks good for the City. It will show that the people are above the politicians that run this city.
And the weather looks good compared to the last 2 years. Dubois has the finest facilities for this in the nation of small cities. PSU Dubois and Clearfield County Tourism will take the lead.
PS. To the current city politicians. Please stay away. Inevitable someone will ask what is going on. No distractions.
This would have never happened without Herm and the other city politicians. You should be thanking them for bringing the revenue to local businesses.

If you offer free insurance, someone will come and fill a seat just for the free insurance. Insurance is a huge expense especially to those living on a shoe string. If you can get free insurance for attending a meeting 12 times a year why not????
So I would assume that Jen Jackson, Elliott Gelfand, and Pat Reasinger plan to pass on the free insurance if they win since they want to clean DuBois up?

Im not sure, heard it on the radio yesterday....said they checked with pa gov officals and said DuBois was the only one and were surprised it was done.....in a "city class size" that DuBois is
it didnt sound like it was just 1 official but I dont know
Herm wasn’t elected so if the council is also getting bonuses it’s going to get real interesting.

Individuals that know the law much better than you do are put in the positions for a reason.
yes,yes they are.....and those people are taking him to court....
did you hear bonuses were paid to city employees and it seems DuBois is one of if not the ONLY city to do that......that is tax payer money GIVEN to elected officials which shouldnt happen
Which elected official received a bonus?

you can defend him just as I will put him down....its ok we are allowed...embrace it......is he still being paid?
I'm not defending anyone, I'm defending our judicial system. Individuals that know the law much better than you do are put in the positions for a reason. Let the process work itself out. If he's guilty, he deserves to be punished. If he's innocent, people like you deserve to give him an apology.

It's going to cost us taxpayers a lot of money to keep this going. His attorneys are not cheap. Yet there Herm was at the country club last night. Probably visiting with our city attorney. Just has no remorse over this.
Is he not allowed to leave his house? He is not on house arrest. All americans are innocent until proven guilty.

To be fair, yes, that is part of the problem. Teacher's Unions demand that the teacher contract include payment through the summer as well, when they're not working. I say, if they want that money all summer, then they should be doing something such as dealing with kids who did not make it through the winter term, ALL SUMMER! Most kids don't have summer work such as farms do, and they're not needed at a job.
Teachers should be paid according to their skills AND accomplishments with their students. If they just do a fair job during the school year, then they get basic pay which is 12 payments a year. Those teachers can teach all year to help kids who did not achieve during the regular school year. I think kids would also try harder in order to have their summer off.
Teachers who excel at guiding their class to top achievements could have the summer off as an incentive. Summers off should be a reward, not a right.
Teachers do not get paid for the summer. They only get paid for days they work and the paychecks are spread out over 26 pays.

Are you prepared to pay out then? It’s your wallet where the money will come from. The cost of everything would rise as well to keep in line. It’s basic economics. Look at the costs now due in part to jobs like McDonald’s entry level jobs starting at 12 an hour. In the end the the raise was pointless. Most jobs now start at 10 plus an hour. The average household is paying 7-8 thousand dollars more a year than we did a couple years ago. You can’t keep jacking up wages without this effect.
Yes, I am willing and prepared for it. We have worked hard and have been smart with our income.

I agree that we need teachers but if you knew the wage when you went to college and still went, how can one complain. If I didn’t like the wage I’m be paid I would seek other employment. I know this post won’t be popular with some but some are never happy.
Who said the teachers were the ones complaining?

Again, to get that dog walker wage, look at the teachers salary factors. A lot of them apply also here. Try doing that here in DuBois.
Face it, we live in the COUNTRY, not in a city where there are umpteen people piled on top of each other and their only escape is to have fancier houses and more luxuries. It's miserable living, the cost of living is much higher, and they need more to keep them living there. Give them the same living conditions as here and they would require less. In addition, a lower tax base means that fewer people are paying into the system and therefore the wages will probably be lower.
Want to raise teacher's salaries? Then volunteer to pay higher taxes.
I’m not a teacher but I feel all of them, including in this area deserve to be paid and respected more. People talk about teachers in this area like they’re second class citizens. If you consider the price of daycare in our area ($25 a day on the low end) and on average teachers have 20 students per class, then the starting teacher salary should be approximately $90k per year. Do the math. Not to mention, every teacher has a minimum of a bachelors degree. Most daycares do not require a degree to watch children. So be happy the school taxes are as low as they are right now.

Yes, this is another case of moving to get higher paying jobs. No one wants their kid to have to move away to make more money, but for experience, getting a foothold financially, building assets, it's good. Give everyone the same salary and there would be no one in the city schools and more populated areas. More teachers would remain in the same comfortable areas and kids would be a by-product of the system instead of the harvest.
The salary has to be in line with the job, not guaranteed regardless of the job.
So you're saying teachers in this area are not worth as much as teachers elsewhere?

Chris Nasuti, the acting city manager, works out of the city building daily. John Suplizio is on paid administrative leave pending charges. He is not working and you know that. Unfortunately, the city has to follow the law in this situation or they could be sued as well.
