tipcat
I want to thank VP for the calendula seeds she sent me. The orange flowers are calendulas. The big white flower is the moon flower. The rest are poppies. I didn't think poppies came in different colors. I actually had an orange one.
lavender
Very pretty! I always find poppy seeds hard to germinate. I have a friend who says they are best sowed on the last "onion snow".
Petee
Are those Poppies annuals or perennials?
tipcat
I have no idea, Petee. I got the seeds free in the mail. I guess I should save some of the seeds, just in case.
Petee
It would be wonderful if they came back. They're so pretty!
tipcat
Thank you. I love all the different colors. I didn't put my seeds in until June sometime. I wasn't sure if they were going to grow or not. I have pink, white/red, red, and an orange one.
lavender
They look like Icelandic poppies to me. They come in pinks, reds, whites, oranges and yellows and shades between. They are perennial in zone 5 so they should be back next year if that is what they are. They should bloom from late spring on into the summer next year. They must be very happy where you have them growing to have done so well with such a late start.
tipcat
I know they make me happy looking at them. They are so pretty and amazing. If you ever got a free packet of poppies in the mail for one thing or another, these are what they are. I didn't order them. I think I might have got them from the AARP.
