  1. The rabbits have been eating our holly bush for the past 2 winters. It is really bad this year. What can we do???? Besides take out the rabbits. I bought the blood stuff, and I bought liquid fence. haven't used the fence yet. Does it work?
  2. those are pretty. Do you fertilize your azalea? It might need some food to fill out. I love magnolia's. They look sooo good when in bloom. And you are right why can't they have flowers and leaves at the same time!!!

  4. We saw lots of Trillium last night between Sykesville and the Blinker Light.
  5. it's a northern starflower. The Starflower: A perennial herb, the Starflower is from 3-25 cm tall (average height: 4 inches). The 4-7 leaves are lance shaped, slender and noticeably veined. Individual leaves are 3-11 cm long, and arranged in a whorl at the tip of the stem. The stems typically have several tiny, alternate, leaves. Most plants will have a single flower though there may be as many as three, each on a long, slender stalk 2-5 cm long, that rises well above the whorl of leaves. The corolla is white, deeply 7-lobed, the lobes slenderly pointed, 8-14 mm long, and spreading like a 7-pointed star. The fruit is a round, berry-like capsule, 6-8 mm in diameter, splitting by five valves and having many tiny seeds. Flowering period : May to June; fruiting period: June to July.

  7. looks good!! Deadhead the flowers and they will bloom all summer and most of the fall.
  8. it's not a rose of sharon, they don't get flowers till June, July, August and sometimes September. I just put a pic on there to show what one looks like ...lol.

  10. I put Terro right next to the ant hills. also put them inside the cupboards and behind the microwave. that way all my critters are safe. You can buy a spray that you use around the foundation of your house.

  14. we have very little snow left here, and what we have are small piles from where it was shoveled. The only part of the driveway that has ice on it is next to the shed where hardly any sun hits it at all.
  15. only 2 of us, and 2 have relatives here ...lol.
  16. we ride through the Clarmont area a few times in the summer.
  17. we hadly have any snow left here ...lol!!!
  18. mine are peeking through also. We dug up that area last fall, cause we are going to make another rock garden. Guess we missed some.
