  1. The Ukraine war is a very questionable thing. We are sending billions of dollars over there basically to fund their retirement system and are weakening our own defenses to provide them with arms. This is becoming a war of attrition which there seems to be no end. Putin will not back down so when and where will this end? This is not worth American blood or treasure however Biden by demanding Putin step down is dragging us into this war.

  2. This can become a difficult question in our modern world.  The word of the Lord clearly outlines right and wrong and how we should conduct ourselves. However also God recognizes that we will all fail as none of us can live without committing sin. So we are all imperfect and must ask Jesus for forgiveness. However to often today people forget that we should hate the sin and not the sinner. It can often be difficult to seperate the sinner from the sin.  But to often we identify the sinner with the sin

  3. Well there are many of us who consider ourselves Catholic and still try to live with the traditional teachings of the Church  but find ourselves troubled by somethings put out in recent years that seem to indicate he is saying that Jesus is not needed to gain heaven. Other recent doctrines put forth seem almost heretical to some when viewed with traditional and historic teachings and doctrine of the Church.

  4. While Mary does not say a lot and tends to be brief if we look at her overall she shows great faith in Jesus, I mean she is front of everyone pretty much  telling them Jesus will provide the wine,  She is putting blind faith in him and had he failed she would have been left looking very bad.  At the same time she was kinda showing him off and starting really the beginning of his ministry.

  5. Pope Benedict lived an interesting life which certainly shows his devotion to Christ and the strength of his faith.  His teenage years under the Nazi regime and his enduring his faith, despite the attempts to indoctrinate him, in a time when many who shared his faith were murdered or sent to concentration camps. Has lived and suffered through oppression, and seen the worst of human life from his time as a soldier in the German Army when Germany was being defeated and over run and it's cities were being destroyed by bombing.  He saw the women and children whose homes were destroyed and were living in a land totally devasted by the war. So if you look at his life you see a man who has seen and experienced great suffering beyond that most people today could ever imagine but he maintained his faith in Christ and used it to guide his life.

  6. Well unfortunatly this company has built up a pretty good monopoly in our region from buying out other companies and getting local governments to require residents to use their services. I often wonder how it comes about that places which once allowed people to pick their own trash company came to decide that Advanced should be the required company.  Now they are raising rates for many 20% or more.  This company's customer service is the pits having spent several hours a week or so ago trying to reach them by phone at several different numbers. Their practice of picking up trash at night  while I can see some advantages to it it also involves risks to the workers who, when I have seen them do not have reflective vests on, which places them in danger from traffic, (also required by OSHA). This could be just employees not wearing what they should but if the employer was serious about safety they would be wearing it. Some years ago I worked for a company that was providing services to government agencies and saw them providing many gifts to local officals that encouraged them to give the company business. So I am bit leery of deals like advanced is getting but a company with a poor safety record places not only their workers but also others at risk

  7. One of the houses in Reynoldsville that my mom use to live in as a little girl had weird occurrences.

She said when they moved in they were told a man shot himself in the one room. There was apparently still blood all over so my grandmother cleaned it up as best as she could but the blood stains kept coming back. I think I was even told that fresh paint wouldn't cover it.

She also told me about the time she woke up and walked downstairs to see a figure of a man in the room that looked as real and solid as could be. She walked over to it and went to touch it but it was just a cold mist that she could run her fingers through.

The house is no longer there. I'm pretty sure everyone who lived there after that had also experienced something which may explain why they tore it down.

I am not sure which house your talking about  there is a house on the Pike, 322 west of town, going up the hill where in the 60s a man who lived on Ohio St thought his wife was having an affair with the man who lived on the pike. One night he walked up to the house on the Pike knocked on the door and when the man who lived  opened the door shot him in the face with a shot gun then walked home called the state police and waited for them to arrive and arrest him. One of the troopers who was there told me years ago that blood covered the walls and left a huge mess. I knew someone who lived in that house years later and they say the front door  often sticks at night if you try to open it
