WMJ77
thought you were asking what is best pie......was going to say peach but then I reread it
Petee
I've always preferred Butternut Squash for pumpkin pie but supposedly professional consensus is a variety of pumpkin that is rather flattened....I'll find the name. They had it at Martins last year but they didn't sell. It's probably like tomatoes or Chili, it's different with different people. Pie pumpkins are more finely grained but I like a little texture in my pie. Really fine is gooey to me. Petee
I think this was one of the select pumpkins for last year. http://www.localharvest.org/squash-seed-long-island-cheese-C6471
lavender
Plant butternut squash. It is meatier and you can't tell the difference in a pie. It also stores really we.
TheFirstNan
Libby's. Can't eat "homemade" pumpkin pie without throwing up... yuk. Might be just how it was made but prefer "canned" pumpkin pie filling without the "pie spice". Just wonderful cinnamon.
