  19. I just saw this topic tonight. As I was reading down through I was going to suggest the vet in Brookville to you. I am not sure if you are talking about North Fork Veterinary Clinic or Brookville Veterinary Hospital. We use North Fork now and that is where we got our stray cat neutered. Both are great clinics. Just amazes me at the callousness of people who drop animals off like this. There needs to better communication to people that they can take an animal to a shelter rather than drop them off in the woods or at the end of a dead end street. They will not get in trouble by taking them to a shelter but will by abandoning them. If they cannot take them they will let you know. I know in my case there were several cats dropped off by a red side by side at the end of our road from what the neighbor down there said. He heard the machine and her a lady yelling get out get out. He saw the cats around when he went to investigate but being an elderly gentleman there was no trying to catch them. Ours just happened to make it back down the road and my granddaughter fed it her pizza she was eating. Long story a bit shorter and he stuck around and made an impression on me and now Tiger has a permanent home. He is more like a dog though haha. He will follow me around the yard and when I call his name he comes running each and every time.

Archdiocese is target of child sex trafficking investigation NEW ORLEANS — The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans is the target of a child sex trafficking investigation, according to a sweeping and unprecedented search warrant Louisiana State Police recently served on an organization that for decades has been submerged in the global church’s clergy molestation scandal. The clerk at the state criminal courthouse where the warrant was signed released the 11-page document Tuesday. It makes clear that troopers involved in a pending rape prosecution against one priest came to suspect that case was part of a broader pattern of “widespread sexual abuse of minors dating back decades” that was “covered up and not reported to law enforcement”. In a stunning assertion made under oath, troopers said they had already recovered documents that “back” the notion that “previous archbishops, the highest-ranking official in the archdiocese, not only knew of the sexual abuse and failed to report all the claims to law enforcement, but spent archdiocese funding to support the accused”. https://www.wwltv.com/article/news/investigations/david-hammer/new-orleans-sex-trafficking-investigation-archdiocese-target-search-warrant/289-8b1a1db1-1290-4f94-9ff2-7d68ebddcb08 (VIDEO) ▫️Anti-Sex Trafficking Advocates Discuss Competing Bills, Strategies Advocates from across California are challenging state officials and community leaders to support legislation that provides resources and services for survivors and victims of human trafficking, as well as assistance as they transition back into civil society. Jon Ossoff designed to protect children from online sexual abuse and exploitation. The bill, also authored by U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., now heads to President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed into law. The REPORT Act is designed to strengthen the national tip line run by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to collect reports of online exploitation and would require evidence to be preserved for a longer period, giving law enforcement more time to investigate and prosecute crimes. The bill would require websites and social media platforms to report crimes involving federal trafficking and enticement of children, which they are not currently required to do. https://www.wrdw.com/2024/04/30/us-house-sends-ossoffs-online-child-exploitation-bill-bidens-desk/ ▫️Police Searching for Missing Teenagers in Multiple Cases Several teenagers are missing in various states. https://www.goperigon.com/news/tech/2024/04/29/search-ongoing-missing-teens-henderson-boston ▫️Human Trafficking Awareness Tickets, Fri, May 3, 2024 at 1:30 PM Join us for an online discussion on this critical issue; how to detect the signs, how to report it, and how to support survivors, followed by a Q&A.
