I don't support cutting up little kids. If you notice, I said the people I know who had surgery, had to wait until they were 18, as it should be. They also had extensive counseling. I was giving real life examples because you don't have any real life interactions from what I am reading. You just don't like the "idea" of trans gender and are letting it affect your peace.

I was saying that 25-30 years ago, there were no resources for the family to look at to find out what was going on with their child.  They didn't promote her being male, they continued to raise her female.  She told everyone to call her a male name and dressed male as soon as she could make her own choices in clothing.  They did not call her said male name. My point was, with the resources available today, she might still be here.  She may have had surgery to be male as an adult or discovered in the psychological evaluation that she did not wish to be male.  I bet you'd be surprised at how high the suicide rates are in teens and young adults with gender related issues.

I think what is dangerous is people hearing or reading something extreme and touting it as fact to the rest of the world, as you are doing with this so called issue of slicing and dicing kids.  Do you know of any kids this has happened to?

I'm not even sure what your last sentence means.  I said I can ignore things I don't agree with and live my life in peace. I never said I ignore bad things so my life isn't complicated.  Don't rewrite my words.

You have an extreme attitude against trans gender.  You think it is bad.  You are entitled to that opinion but it's none of your business who in your neighborhood or workplace may have had gender change surgery.

It is my business when I am paying for it and we are paying for it. Plus I live in this society and this society belongs to me as well as these kids and greedy doctors.

"They also had extensive counseling."??????  BY who?  The liberal schools system who is teaching kids to be cut on a daily basis. Parents who have no clue but just want to give their kids anything they want????  What do you think the chances are for someone like me to be involved in this so-called counseling?      NOT A CHANCE.    These kids. with brains that are not fully developed are put in a room with like minded people. Just what do you think these kids are hearing????  "O you poor dear, let us just pump you full of chemicals with harmful side affects and cut up your body. You will feel better when we are done"  We are the educated people with fully developed brains.

"I think what is dangerous is people hearing or reading something extreme and touting it as fact"

You are absolutely correct. It is very dangerous for these kids to be told lies by supposed highly educated professionals on a daily basis.

I have a extreme attitude against things that I know to be wrong.   You know this is wrong just as well as I do.  It's too complicated so you like so many others will just walk away and let it happen.

The Hippocratic Oath (Ορκος) is perhaps the most widely known of Greek medical texts. It requires a new physician to swear upon a number of healing gods that he will uphold a number of professional ethical standards.Sep 16, 2002

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure. I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

What are the four rules of the Hippocratic Oath?

Modern medical ethics consider four deontological principles: autonomy, justice, non-maleficence, and beneficence.

When did doctors stop taking the Hippocratic Oath?

In 1973, the US Supreme Court rejected the oath as a guide to medical ethics and practice by stating that the oath is incapable of covering the latest developments and methods of medical practice and research.

I really like the last one.  A bunch of old fuddy duds making legal decisions about something they knew nothing about.  How much slicing and dicing was going on in 1973?????
Most likely none because the fad had not started yet.

How is allowing individual persons, even minor individual persons, get treatment for gender dysphoria that results in their eventually become the opposite sex? How does that work? For me that is an expression of individualism. I think society should be weak becomes busybodies who seem themselves as representing society tend to interfere with the rights of individuals, including their right to decide their own sex and gender. The law yes, society not so much, because  if a law is shown to be counter-productive it can be changed.  Again, allow boys who see themselves as girls to dress and act as little girls, and girls who see themselves as boy dress and act as boys; teenagers be allowed to get puberty blockers and hormone treatments under the supervision and authority of parents and guardians, and for adults, allow them to get the surgery if they wish. If you argue against these provision then you are the one who wants to take control of what other people can do or not do with their own bodies. You are the threat to the individualism that defines this country.

Too bad you don't have much faith in American ingenuity. There are many avenues toward energy sufficiency. In ten, twenty years we may have harnessed fusion power. I'm sure there are energy sources we have not even thought of yet. There is also safer technology for nuclear power. But according to you, the coal and gas industry controls the country now because they are the ones who set prices people pay. I don't see it. If Mobil or Exxon or BP sent me an email telling me what I would be doing that week, I would send it to my spam file and delete it.

I believe a handful of municipalities do allow illegal immigrants to vote in local elections. Since many of them likely hold conservative attitudes, many of them would likely vote conservative. I'm sure these laws will be rescinded once the electorate votes out those who advocated this. I don't see this as being a widespread issue. DuBois and Clearfield County don't allow illegal immigrants to vote, so what other places want to try out doesn't affect me. But at least those illegals VOTED, unlike someone on here who complains about politicians but who thinks they are too good to vote for a mere human who has the capacity to be dishonest, like 100% of all humans who ever lived. This person is waiting for perfect, innocent angel to flutter down to this realm to run for office. Not gonna happen.

If you are talking about a president signing executive orders, they affect the Executive branch of government. When they go too far, lawsuits quickly corrects the problem. If you think a president is becoming dictatorial, then join your fellow citizens and hope your votes outweigh the votes of those for this would-be dictator.

Boring canned propaganda made up of one excuse after another of why we shouldn't do the right thing.

Yeah like posting on a small town message board and refusing to vote. If you do more than that I would like to her it, honestly. Giving my own opinion on things is hardly spreading propaganda, especially since I am spreading it on a small town message board where about 99% of the posters who care about politics disagree with me.

This country has survived a Civil War, a Great Depression, and other traumas. This division between urban and rural (which is basically what we are talking about) is small potatoes.

So we are not only talking about cosmetic surgery now, we are also talking about small potatoes.

So, as we talk about small potatoes, wrap your small potatoes around this fact.  I didn't vote for the insanity that you did so you are responsible for the insanity not me.

There are days when I wonder why I even try to have a meaningful conversation with some people who can't even grasp the results of their own actions.

How much does it cost to become a surgeon in the US?

After medical school, a graduate will enter a paid residency period to obtain their license. Residency typically lasts between 3 to 7 years. The average cost of a medical school degree is $230,296.

How many extra years does it take to become a surgeon?

How long does it take to become a surgeon? It can take at least 13 years after high school to become a surgeon. That includes four years for an undergraduate degree, four years for a medical degree, and five years for a residency.Apr 7, 2023

Now, after all that, what is the one thing that would make a person with such achievements feed drugs to a kid and cut sex organs off of a kid?????

Trans kids’ treatment can start younger, new guidelines say

By LINDSEY TANNERJune 15, 2022

A leading transgender health association has lowered its recommended minimum age for starting gender transition treatment, including sex hormones and surgeries.

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health said hormones could be started at age 14, two years earlier than the group’s previous advice, and some surgeries done at age 15 or 17, a year or so earlier than previous guidance. The group acknowledged potential risks but said it is unethical and harmful to withhold early treatment.

The association provided The Associated Press with an advance copy of its update ahead of publication in a medical journal, expected later this year. The international group promotes evidence-based standards of care and includes more than 3,000 doctors, social scientists and others involved in transgender health issues.

The update is based on expert opinion and a review of scientific evidence on the benefits and harms of transgender medical treatment in teens whose gender identity doesn’t match the sex they were assigned at birth, the group said. Such evidence is limited but has grown in the last decade, the group said, with studies suggesting the treatments can improve psychological well-being and reduce suicidal behavior.

Is this where we small minded small city folks are supposed to go to get ed--uuuuu----kat--ed???

I am guessing you believe that this would be the place to send your kid for counseling.

Dr. Joel Frader, a Northwestern University a pediatrician and medical ethicist who advises a gender treatment program at Chicago’s Lurie Children’s Hospital, said guidelines should rely on psychological readiness, not age.

Frader said brain science shows that kids are able to make logical decisions by around age 14, but they’re prone to risk-taking and they take into account long-term consequences of their actions only when they’re much older.

Now this is what this liar is telling kids and parents

here is the real truth that has been settled on for years

The brain finishes developing and maturing in the mid-to-late 20s. The part of the brain behind the forehead, called the prefrontal cortex, is one of the last parts to mature. This area is responsible for skills like planning, prioritizing, and making good decisions.

Perhaps.

Being someone who believes that the individual should let an amorphous entity called "society" make the decisions for them, with you being the arbiter of what is acceptable in this society, makes you a (gasp) cultural socialist.

And thank you so much for contributing to this great country by not voting. I only hope you can convince others of your kind to join you in boycotting the voting polls. That will make it much easier as we-young people really-enter  the new digital age that is upon us.

“small country town mindset”. Stereotype much? That has absolutely nothing to do with it. Zero.  In fact, it’s insulting and inappropriate and I expected better than this.

Have you ever read some of the comments made about gay people at a certain bar in town?  People so threatened that they won't go to the establishment that serves gays.  .  . That is the small mindset I am talking about.

Go to a city and there are bars openly advertised for gays and no one cares.  They just go to the establishments they choose to without worrying about what everyone else is doing.

You can try to class it up all you want but this attitude against trans gender isn't about anything but non acceptance of something different that you don't understand.

I expect better than to hear such hatred for a group of people that think differently than yourselves. So I guess we are even.

Most likely none because the fad had not started yet.

We, as Americans are paying for a lot of things that should greatly concern us. But, they don't seem to concern people.  Anti LGBTQ people grasp to this and forget about everything else going on in the world.

That you think this is a fad is quite frankly scary.  This decision is not taken lightly by the families involved.

You like to say slicing and dicing and talk about money a lot. I would hope the Drs. involved do so because they want to improve the lives of these humans. But, the medical field is full of unethical things happening daily, so I'm sure it's not always the case.

I can't speak for what kids are being told daily at school, as my youngest is 21 so I have no firsthand information on that subject that is less than 3 years old.  I can tell you that the young people I know that walked this journey were not counseled at school.  Their parents are successful career people and they are successful college graduates and their coworkers and neighbors would not know their history. As it should be.  They had wonderful support through college in 2 different states, that tells me that acceptance in many parts of the US is far better than here.

I see the humans that I have known for over 20 years, you see something you think is bad. I agree to disagree on this, as I can have peace in my life without controlling everyone else.

The surgery part is just that, and the families I know thought of it as the final physical end to years of a very tough and very emotional journey.  I don't mean that with disrespect. The mental, emotional and legal issues were done before the final stages of cosmetic surgery were over.  Watching the legal steps was quite interesting.

It is actually quite easy to change your name and gender on paper. I think that is one of the issues we see currently in sports but that's a whole other subject.

The problem is that you can’t differentiate between someone disagreeing with a lifestyle with hate.  That sums up the leftist today.  Disagree with something they think and they accuse you of either being a homophobe, a racist or a transphobe or any other number of names.  Just as you are doing. Believe it or not we can disagree on things and actually not hate them.

But  It’s the playbook tactic of libs today.  Call someone a hater that doesn’t agree with you.  It’s childish and immature.  But I expect it of the left.

The whole point of this thread is not what you believe, it's all about what is really happening and those people who accept it as a normal life.

I am not against counseling, I am against biased counseling pretending to be fair and equal to both sides of the problem. If you take your kid to a group of people who believes in drugs and knifes as a cure to the kids confusion you are not providing counseling, you are providing indoctrination. Your providing your kid with a place of acceptance. Speaking of acceptance,. I do believe that a goodly amount of these kids are doing this because it is a fad.

Which marxists/communists are you talking about? And how are they exploiting the transgendered issue?

There may be a few of them around, but there are also right-wingers who support transgendered people. Most of those who speak out about the rights of transgendered people probably don't give two bits about politics. There are also Christians who support the rights of transgender people.

https://www.hrc.org/resources/what-does-the-bible-say-about-transgender-people

There has always been conflict between classes and groups, and some exploitation, not just by communists. And there always will be.

I think the best thing to do is just let transgendered people make their own decisions about their own bodies, and mind your own beeswax because it doesn't really affect you. Thus, no chance for exploitation.

The communist agenda has not changed, only the manner in which they attempt to fulfill their objectives has changed. God's law has not changed. Many of the truths are inconvenient in this world.  Man is trying to make man's version of Christianity.

This is actually encouraging to me.  A friend of the world (worldly ways) is an enemy of God.

Target partners with org pushing for kids' genders to be secretly changed in schools without parental consent

'We... continue to support their mission,' Target Corporation said about GLSEN

Target Corporation is partnering with a K-12 education group for which focuses on getting districts to adopt policies that will keep parents in the dark on their child's in-school gender transition, providing sexually explicit books to schools for free, and integrating gender ideology at all levels of curriculum in public schools, Fox News Digital uncovered.

"GLSEN leads the movement in creating affirming... and anti-racist spaces for LGBTQIA+ students. We are proud of 10+ years of collaboration with GLSEN and continue to support their mission," Target said. The retail giant provides annual donations to GLSEN.

GLSEN calls for gender ideology to be integrated into all classes, even math. It provides educators instructions on how they can make math "more inclusive of trans and non-binary identities" by including "they/them" pronouns in word problems

In another example, GLSEN recommended that teachers intervene if students are making graphs about sex and gender to ensure it includes the ideology supported by GLSEN. "When students are creating their own surveys, if they want to include data for biological sex, teachers need to be sure they include both intersex and other as choices."

Now, this is way too funny not to share the irony. Slice and dice my kids but leave my kitty alone.

Michigan lawmakers consider amending bill in order to outlaw certain surgical procedures for cats

Opponents of the bans argue that sometimes declawing is appropriate for cats and their owners

Lawmakers in Michigan are considering a bill to make it illegal to declaw cats, which many animal advocates and some veterinarians say impedes the felines' natural instincts to climb and scratch.

House Bill 4674 would amend the state's Public Health Code to regulate certain surgical procedures performed on cats like the act of declawing.
