  1. Protect the identity of the whistleblower. They had reasons for wanting to stay anonymous. If they want people to know who they are, they can step forward. Why expose the one person that had the integrity to say something about dealings that looked wrong to them? There were many people that had to know, yet said nothing. The allegations, if found to be true, involve big names and multiple levels in the community. Their influence could make things rough. Again, they all deserve their day in court. Here's to hoping ALL of them pay if they are found guilty, big names included...or maybe, especially the big names.
  2. Big Bonuses, Vast Powers and Corruption Charges: 5 Takeaways from an Investigation into DuBois’ Herm Suplizio – GantNews.com Yes, they all deserve their day in court to answer the questions of the people and defend themselves from the charges levied. Now that Election Day and Thanksgiving has passed (which shouldn't have anything to do with anything) let it ALL come down. Gant Daily has done some 'real' journalism on this. It's sad so few journalists exist. Again and I stress, they deserve their day in court. We The People absolutely deserve answers as well.
  3. The gambling aspect has been whispered about, but I don't understand it. Look, I realize this is not a court and all concerned will get their day there. But, could someone fill in the gapsmon the gambling accusations?
  4. How Herm Suplizio remade DuBois, PA and what went wrong · Spotlight PA State College Here is a very good read from Spotlight PA based in State College.
  5. My moral compass says if someone knew about it, although didn't participate in it, they are guilty if it was tolerated. Yes, I understand there can be consequences; it's just in my mind, the right thing is always the right thing, regardless.
  6. I agree everyone has a right to due process. Still, there is every indication of lots of improper acts as we all agree. My question is when will these additional arrests come? Does the two-tier justice system so prevalent in our country apply to City officials too? One admitted in public to obstructing an investigation, yet nothing has happened. I am frustrated, discouraged, and angry.
  7. Thank you Polo. I'm just figuring since it meant so much to my parents and means so much to me, there are lots of people that served our community that they and their families deserve what I can do to acknowledge their service.
  8. My beloved brother Mike was a DuBois City Fireman. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1996. It was very important to my parents that his grave had a new Firemen Memorial Flag on his grave every year to acknowledge his service. I thought that each Hose Company did this, however, did not realize that only one or two in the city do. It was apparently my parents that, even in their senior years, did so. They both died in 2019. Does anyone know a good source for these flags? My brother's grave has been cared for. I just would like to keep acknowledging his service while also caring for as many others as I can that have a similar situation. To buy as many as I think I will need, the sources I found on internet were quite expensive. I keep thinking of my Mom before she died when I would take her through the cemetery in my car. She had lost most of her mobility, and the tears in her eyes broke my heart.
