Thank you for the kind comments.  We do appreciate all the help we get to restore and maintain this historic cemetery.  It is the history of DuBois.  Many of the hardworking pioneers of our community are buried there and deserve to be remembered.  The DuBois Area Historical Society Lantern Walk will be at Rumbarger Cemetery this October.  More information later.

Kudos to the workers and both companies for their efforts and support.  Also to the cementary for allowing them to be recognized for their efforts.  The progress over the past few years has been great and really shows.

On April 20th DuBois FedEx employees came to the Rumbarger Cemetery as an early Earth Day event. This is the third year that the employees and YardWorks (814-594-6421) of Brockway, have come to landscape, reset tombstones and generally clean up the cemetery. From left to right: Justin Marchiori, James Burkholder and Cole Bouch from YardWorks, John Geist, Scott Smith, Ryan Morrison, Andy Daugherty, Nick Digilarmo, Greg Weible, Brad Bowser, Seth Ferut, Megan Hubert, Brian Hibbard, Lynette Crawford, Bella Sciamanna and Jason Charles. The Rumbarger Cemetery Preservation Society would like to thank them for their continued support.

He's just doing a little midnight shopping and trying to avoid the rush! No need to 'out' him and start a panic!!

Well if you ever wondered what goes Bump in the night, now you know. Kinda reminds me of my first hunting trip to Montana but that's a story for another time! Let me just say they do exist, they do exist, they do exist, they do they do they do exist!

The book The Hills Of Home by Jennie Smith Dixon should be ready by the end of this month. I retyped the book and it has been proofread and being sent back to the printer the final approved copy this week. The original book was typed on an antique typewriter. I remember watching my grandmother sit at the typewriter for hours. As kids we helped her put together the very first volume. Jennie was my grandmother and there are some good stories in the book. She used to tell us great stories when we were little. We LOVED hearing her stories. I also have a copy of her second book she wrote. It starts when her parents are married and  is a very rough draft. It is going to take some time to put it together. She had typed it up and went through making her changes throughout the book and that was as far as it got. It starts in the very early 1900's. It describes my great grandmother's wedding gown, at the beginning, which I have seen in a trunk and I believe still exists with a relative. It was a beautiful gown for the early 1900's. I have yet to read the entire book so I am not sure what the content is. The information Sanibel provided is correct above. Jennie was Calvin's mother.

You both should go down into the dam area ... once the mud dries up .. diet road about a mile long getting to the park area.

I've driven by there lots of times but never got out to investigate. I want to also get up that way to see the darkest park east of the Mississippi.

I am so sorry. My prayers go out to her family and especially her children. It was apparent how much she loved them and that they were the most important part of her life. They will always know how much they were loved.
