Certainly hats off to the Rumbarger Cemetery Preservation Society which has devoted countless volunteer hours of their time over the last few years to renovating and maintaining the cemetery: Carol Laughlin, Mel Amrhein, Melanie McGinnis, Barb Kopshina,Carolyn Hossler Fridley, Dena Senior, Denny Laughlin, and Karen Amrhein.
And also to those who donated money and labor, and those volunteers who have stepped-up to help including the city, Korb Monuments, FedEx, ComCast and Yardworks of Brockway.
The cemetery today is a lasting tribute to the RCPS and their team effort.

Dobby reacted to Petee in Bees Placed On Endangered Species List
Bees not only pollinate most of the huge factory farms but they improve the quality of crops. They depend on the domesticated bees for a larger harvest.
For the home gardener, stop spraying pesticides and learn to deal with insects naturally. If you have an acre or more then ask a beekeeper if they would like to situate a hive there.

If we lose bees, we are in serious trouble.
I encourage everyone to research ways to help.
Planting bee-friendly flowers, buying local organic honey, setting up a bee watering station in your yard, even donating to bee protection societies... we need these little guys around.

Dobby reacted to Petee in Milkweed Seeds
You can find common milkweed along train tracks, unmowed roadsides and in farm fields. It is a native wildflower but some people just don't get the importance of it.
Why anyone would fine someone for it, but not for ragweed is a mystery to me. Yes, Ragweed is a terrible allergen, but milkweed is not, and neither is Goldenrod. Because they "bloom" at the same time people think the culprit is Goldenrod. Milkweed is amazingly scented when it is in bloom, and if the city wants to be nasty, then they should fine themselves as they have it in the city park at the end of the Boulevard in the middle of the ground cover. I saw summer workers pulling it all out over a month ago but it's back and should be left there till after the Monarch migration is done in late October. Then they would do well to remove it for the health of the 2017 Monarchs.
Yes, I know a gentleman on the Eastside who was fined for having it in a marked and bordered Butterfly bed. Just grow the other varieties and no one will even blink an eye. The BUDS Gardeners have several varieties of it at the Plant Donation Sale in May.
This is Swamp MIlkweed. What could possibly be more beautiful?

Dobby reacted to Pappy in My dogs enjoying their new surroundings.
My dogs were relegated to the upstairs and kitchen area for about a week and a half. Yesterday they finally were allowed in the living room and they seem to enjoy it. Of course they follow me to whatever room I am in. Oh and yes the outlet covers will be put back on just havent gotten around to it yet.
While I hate snow they need to go out and run a bit but I wont let them they would be muddy messes if I did now. They really havent had a chance to enjoy this winter but I have because I dont like the snow. I suppose once I retire and dont have to drive in it I wont mind it as much
I really need some green so I can start taking pics of the garden or whatever. You know I am bored when i start taking pics of the dogs LOL come on spring daddy needs a new pepper plant LOL
