Nobody seems to remember America before Al Gore. He was the king of the green movement. The North pole is still there. We still have plenty of oil and gas if we were aloud to use it instead of bowing to the middle east for our needs. I'm old enough to remember when you could hardly see the next block in Pittsburg and the smell of the Johnsonburg paper mill clear down in Henderson township. And how about the  slag piles at the local mines burning.And like so many others I've managed to live through it all. And as for the weather it is all natural cycles. And to think the younger generations believe all the false hype. It is all the Lords will. Nothing happens with out his say so. WAKE UP AMERICA IT IS ALMOST TO LATE TO BE A FREE AMERICAN.

The pastor of Smithtown Church in Falls Creek was hit head on this morning. He is in icu and he has a cracked sternum, broken ribs, and internal bleeding. He is in severe pain.
 Your prayers would be appreciated.

James D. “JD” Lester, age 77 of Falls Creek, PA died Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

Born on October 9, 1946 in Joplin, MO, he was the son of the late William  and Doris (Kenny) Lester.

JD was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War.

He had worked at Brockway Glass Company for 27 years.

JD was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17 where he had served as Past Commander and the Falls Creek Eagles Aerie 965.

He is survived by his children (Joseph Lester and Laraine Kearney and her husband William both of Falls Creek, PA), six grandchildren (Kendra Swanson, Kimberly Kearney, Kolten Kearney, Karly Bottenhorn, Kasidie Kearney and Ian Lester), five great grandchildren and one sister (Leslie).

JD was preceded in death by one brother (Mike) and one sister (Carol).

There will be no public visitation and a private family funeral service will be held.

Memorials may be placed with American Legion Post 17, 315 Liberty Boulevard, DuBois, PA 15801.

The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Wouldn’t this ruin your day! This tree came down across route 120 west near keating under the guide rail and had enough momentum to drive right through a rail car! Now that’s impressive! It’s my right and you can’t do anything about it!” Dad: “OK!! “ My son: “Hey, where’s my supper? “ Dad: “Your supper is in the catfood bowl in the corner. Now get off the table you mangy cat!” My son: “What???” Dad: hits him with a broom, “get off the table furball!!” My son in the corner looking bewildered! Me to my wife : “Is that cat neutered”?? My wife: “I will make an appointment!! “ My son: “What??? “ Dad: “Your mother and I have decided we don’t want a house cat, so get out to the barn and hunt mice!” My son: “What???” Dad: brandishes broom, “NOW, to the barn you stupid cat!!” My son: “Dad, I think I’m a boy!” Dad: “I thought so, now sit down and eat your supper!!” Spay and neuter these animals. Stop them from reproducing. Today’s society has enough fruit loops already. End of story!
