Dolores “Gigi” Bargerstock, Age 91 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born May 22, 1933 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth “Betty” Campagnoli. On May 27, 1961, she married her husband of almost 63 years, John Ord “Jack” Bargerstock. He survives. Gigi retired from the S&T Bank after 18 years of service as a teller. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where she had taught confirmation and was a money counter. Gigi was a member of the former Lithuanian Independence Club Auxiliary and when her children were young, she was active in both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She loved to bake, make candy, and share her treats with everyone. Above all else, she loved her time with her family and friends. Gigi is survived by three children (John Ord Bargerstock, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Falls Church, VA, Jerry Bargerstock of DuBois, PA , and Cathy Bargerstock and her husband Matthew Delia of Sykesville, MD), three grandchildren (Jack, Max, and Veronica), two step grandchildren (Scotty and Ben), a step great grandchild (Bethany), and two sisters (Mary Ellen David of Texas, and Jean Balarillo of Florida). She was preceded in death by her brother(Robert Campagnoli), and her sister (Jane Monroe). Visitation will be held on from Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 11 a.m. from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish at St. Catherine of Siena with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Rodger “Rod” S. Bowers, Age 94 of Reynoldsville, PA died Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. Born on November 8, 1929 in Big Run, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Olivette (Sones) Bowers. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean War. Rod married Judith A. (Umbaugh) Bowers. She preceded him in death on September 13, 2021. Rod retried from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a manager. He was a fantastic wood worker and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Rod is survived by his children (Debbie Lyle and her husband Tim, Diane Flock and her husband Doug, and David Bowers and his wife Beth, all of Reynoldsville, PA), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his step children (Jeffrey Gordon and his wife Tracy of Brookville, PA and their family, Zachary, Lucas, Haley, and Sydney, and Jennifer L. Swartz and her husband Tim of Odessa, FL and their family Michael and Shannon). He was preceded in death by his brother (Danny Bowers). There will be no public visitation and services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery. Great, I am up to trying new places. Sounds great, and everyone has to make their own opinion. And that's how the cleaning should be done in every place. Jersey Mikes is located beside Sarveys in the DuBois Plaza. Taco Inc is on the boulevard beside The Hitching Post. Family went to DuBois Taco Inc, have not been in other locations, and everything we ordered was good. Chicken fajitas, cheese dip, chicken fingers and fries were all fresh, hot and good portions. We were leaving near closing time and I have never seen a staff that was so thorough in cleaning. Not just the tables, chairs and floors, but the walls, cooking areas, drink machines… The staff were on step ladders and the floors. Will eat there again.

Charlene Shangraw, age 89, of DuBois, PA, died Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Christ The King Manor. Charlene was born in southern Ohio on October 12, 1934, to the late Ora and Faye (Capper) Montgomery. After her mother's untimely passing, she was raised by her Uncle Joseph and Rachael Wall. Charlene always enjoyed hospitality. She was the food and beverage director of several private clubs throughout central Pennsylvania. She managed the dining room and special events at the Ross Club in Williamsport and the Treasure Lake Country Club in DuBois, PA. Charlene was also a member of the Ladies of the Lake in Treasure Lake and the Treasure Lake Church in DuBois, PA. She enjoyed volunteering with the church's daycare program. Charlene is survived by her daughter, Brenda Bragonier of Lexington, KY., and son, Robert Maynard (Shannon) of DuBois, PA; her stepchildren, Nancy Desantis (Denny), Susan Shangraw, and David Shangraw of Williamsport, PA; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Shangraw, and her first husband, James Russell Maynard. Charlene was also preceded in death by her sons, Brent Russell Maynard and James Allen Maynard; stepson, Douglas Shangraw; two sisters Geneva Hayes and Darlene Wall; three brothers Bernard, Franklin "Hank" and William Ernest Montgomery; two brother-in-laws Berkley Hayes and Donald Wall; and her sister-in-law Hazel (Mash) Montgomery. (a) General rule.--No person shall throw or deposit, upon any highway, or upon any other public or private property without the consent of the owner thereof or into or on the waters of this Commonwealth from a vehicle, any waste paper, sweepings, ashes, household waste, glass, metal, refuse or rubbish, or any dangerous or detrimental substance. (b) Removal of deposited material.-- (1) Any person who drops, or permits to be dropped or thrown, upon any highway, or upon any other public or private property without the consent of the owner thereof or into or on any waters of this Commonwealth from a vehicle, any waste paper, sweepings, ashes, household waste, glass, metal, refuse or rubbish, or any dangerous or detrimental substance shall immediately remove the same or cause it to be removed. (2) For the purposes of this subsection a "person who permits to be dropped or thrown" from a vehicle any of the items described in paragraph (1) shall include the driver of the vehicle and the registrant of any vehicle registered in this Commonwealth from which any of the items are dropped or thrown, either by the registrant or any person operating, in possession of or present within the vehicle with the permission of the registrant, regardless of the registrant's intent or lack of knowledge with respect to the disposal of such items in violation of this section where the registrant of the vehicle does not, with reasonable certainty, identify the driver of the vehicle at the time the violation occurred.
