The Biden administration released a sweeping plan to curb fossil fuel-fired power plant emissions Thursday, sparking concerns from experts about future U.S. power grid reliability.

About 20,000 years ago, the climate warmed and the ice sheet retreated. Water from the melting glacier filled the basins , forming the Great Lakes. Approximately 3,000 years ago, the Great Lakes reached their present shapes and sizes.

Name the amount of coal mines. steel mills and SUV'S  they were on this earth 20,000 years ago.

Emmanuel Macron – famously chastened by the gilets jaunes – last week called on the EU to stop its barrage of green legislation, saying that enough is enough. We might just have passed Peak Green.

It’s all moving quite quickly. Last autumn, Germany signed an EU target to ban the sale of internal combustion engine cars by 2035. It now opposes the idea, as does Italy, Poland and Czechia. That’s not to say the green agenda is collapsing under the pressure of public scorn: it’s simply being subjected to the kind of scrutiny that was never applied in the first place. Over the last few years, this swathe of desert has been steadily carpeted with one of the world’s largest concentrations of solar power plants, forming a sprawling photovoltaic sea. On the ground, the scale is almost incomprehensible. The Riverside East Solar Energy Zone – the ground zero of California’s solar energy boom – stretches for 150,000 acres, making it 10 times the size of Manhattan.

 

It is a crucial component of the United States’ green energy revolution. Solar makes up about 3% of the US electricity supply, but the Biden administration hopes it will reach 45% by 2050, primarily by building more huge plants like this across the country’s flat, empty plains.

 

The mostly flat expanse south-east of Joshua Tree national park was originally identified as a prime site for industrial-scale solar power under the Obama administration, which fast-tracked the first project, Desert Sunlight, in 2011. It was the largest solar plant in the world at the time of completion, in 2015, covering an area of almost 4,000 acres, and it opened the floodgates for more. Since then, 15 projects have been completed or are under construction, with momentous mythological names like Athos and Oberon. Ultimately, if built to full capacity, this shimmering patchwork quilt could generate 24 gigawatts annually, enough energy to power 7m homes.

Britain has started burning coal to generate electricity for the first time in a month and a half, after the heatwave made solar panels too hot to work efficiently.

One unit at Uniper’s Ratcliffe-on-Soar coal power plant in Nottinghamshire started producing electricity for the first time in weeks on Monday morning, while another coal-powered plant was warmed up in case it was needed by the early afternoon.

Watchdog hits John Kerry with science ethics complaint over climate change deaths claim

'Such a blatant misstatement of scientific information to the public is, by its nature, a threat to public trust and good governance,' the complaint states

 

 

EXCLUSIVE: A government watchdog group filed an ethics complaint against Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry on Tuesday morning, alleging he spread misinformation about climate change.

In its complaint, Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) alleged that Kerry violated federal scientific integrity policy — which requires officials to communicate scientific information accurately based on the best available evidence — when he said in May that greenhouse gas emissions kill 15 million people per year worldwide. PPT requested a federal investigation into Kerry's comments.

"15 million people are dying every single year around this planet as a consequence of greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere, in the air which travels around and drops in the form of pollution and is warming the ocean at record rates, changing the chemistry of the ocean itself," Kerry remarked on May 10 at the Department of Agriculture's AIM for Climate Summit. 

 

"Despite the enormity of Mr. Kerry’s claim, he did not cite any scientific evidence for its basis," the PPT complaint stated. "Nor is there any apparent scientific research that supports a claim that there are currently 15 million people dying yearly due to greenhouse gas emissions — or any other single cause of death that is tracked."

"Such a blatant misstatement of scientific information to the public is, by its nature, a threat to public trust and good governance," it continued. "It is made far worse when such misinformation is used to publicly support sweeping policy changes like trying to reach net-zero emissions in agriculture, which would have untold effects upon the economy and lives of the American people writ large."

Why was anyone listening to Greta Thunberg in the first place?

It’s all over for us. The climate change crisis is no longer reversible, and all of humanity is doomed.

At least, that is all according to Greta Thunberg and a “top climate scientist” who said that “climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.” That was tweeted on this day five years ago, meaning today is the final day we have to stop using fossil fuels entirely. But all of this raises a question: Why was some random child propped up as the arbiter of climate change policy in the first place?

Thunberg deleted her doomsaying tweet, presumably so she can reset the doomsday clock and continue her climate grift. That activist grift started when she was 15 with her skipping school and protesting in front of Sweden’s Parliament. From there, her activist cause was picked up by every establishment media outlet around, including ABC News, CBS, CNN, NBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, among others.

 

It didn’t just stop there. Thunberg was invited to the United Nations to lecture world leaders about how she knew so much more about the climate than they did and how “you are failing us” young people and “we will never forgive you.” Her climate tantrums earned her Time's 2019 Person of the Year.

But why? Thunberg didn’t, and still doesn’t, know anything about how oil, natural gas, and coal have sustained humanity and are both more efficient and more reliable than renewable energy sources. She also hates nuclear energy, which produces no carbon emissions and is far more efficient and reliable than wind and solar. We have already seen California follow anti-nuclear “green” policies, which led to the state firing up natural gas generators to try and keep the lights on.

 

 

Thunberg is nothing more than a whiny child turned whiny adult, and yet she was propped up as the face of liberal climate change policy. Liberal media outlets and liberal elites around the world anointed her as the world’s savior at the age of 16, and those same institutions demand that you take their warnings about climate change seriously.

Both they and Thunberg will not simply move the goal posts again. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) set the new doomsday date in 2031, so perhaps they will all coalesce around that prediction. But this should be the end of the line for their credibility. No one who promoted a random child as a climate change expert should be taken seriously on climate change or energy policy again, no matter how frantic and hysterical their doomsday predictions become.

 

Ain't it something when Liberals produce kids as some sort of expert? They use the kid to pass their lies because no one wants to attack a kid especially this one who is mentally challenged.

Siemens Energy shares plunge more than 30% as wind turbine worries deepen

Are 14-Day Forecasts Accurate?

Modern weather predictions are a combination of computer-based models and human experience. As a rule of thumb, the closer a weather forecast is in time, the more accurate it is. Long-term predictions have a larger margin of error because there are more unknown variables.

This means that our short- and medium-range forecasts are the most accurate. Long-range forecasts predicting the weather for more than 7 days in advance should be seen as a rough guide, as the accuracy of weather predictions falls considerably around the one-week mark.

Weather Station Limitations

Past, current, or predicted temperature values displayed in a weather report may not always represent the warmest or coldest temperature for a location on a particular day.

This is due to practical limitations:

• Time: If the temperature is recorded at 13:00 (1:00 pm) and again at 14:00 (2:00 pm) but the temperature peaks at 13:30 (1:30 pm), the readings for the maximum temperature will be a little too low.
• Frequency: Some weather stations do not report as frequently as others. Some stations transmit their readings every 30 minutes or every hour while others may do so every 2 or 3 hours. Also, some stations are not consistent with the times in which they provide their reports.
• Location: In some cases, weather stations are quite far away from the city, so weather conditions may differ there.

Where Does the Weather Data Come From?

CustomWeather provides the weather data on timeanddate.com. They use weather stations at airports, stations run by the World Meteorological Association (WMO), and MADIS weather stations which are typically a community effort.

To meet the European Union’s carbon reduction goals, the government of Ireland has proposed culling (a polite way of saying killing) 200,000 cows, effectively reducing the nation’s dairy herd by 10%.  A move that even drew the ridicule of Elon Musk.

Not to be outdone, New York City has proposed new regulations for wood- and coal-fired pizza ovens operated within the city’s five boroughs. The city has proposed that all wood- and coal-fired pizza ovens installed before 2016 be fitted with emission control devices, impacting approximately 100 restaurants, at a cost of $20,000-30,000 per eatery.

 

The grand prize for insanity, however, goes to the Biden administration. Stealing a storyline from "The Simpsons," a document published on the White House website reveals the "Biden administration is open to studying how to block sunlight to save the Earth from climate change.  The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy has been researching ‘geoengineering’ methods to keep the sun’s rays from accelerating global warming."

Have we reached the limits of this green insanity? It's doubtful.

Numerous corporate media outlets drove the narrative that July 3-5 was the hottest 72-hour stretch ever on record, citing a computer model from the University of Maine which the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has warned is not as dependable as traditional observational data.

The New York Times, Fortune, Axios and CBS News each cited the University of Maine’s Climate Reanalyzer computer model in various Thursday reports asserting that this week’s global temperatures broke the previous record for hottest three-day stretch. The coverage came as NOAA said Thursday that the model’s findings are not a suitable substitute for observational data, since the model depends in part on unverifiable, computer-generated outputs, according to The Associated Press.

Axios’ Thursday headline asserted that “Earth sees three hottest days on record,” while The Times wrote in its Thursday story that “the past three days were quite likely the hottest in Earth’s modern history.” CBS News ran a chyron on a Thursday television segment which read, “Earth sees third straight hottest day on record,” while the first half of Fortune’s Thursday headline stated that “Earth hits record heat third day in a row.”

“Although NOAA cannot validate the methodology or conclusion of the University of Maine analysis, we recognize that we are in a warm period due to climate change,” NOAA said, according to the AP.
