Pompeii reacted to 1977er in Looking for old Juniata Elem. School yearbooks
Hello--
I'm hoping to find the old Juniata Elementary School yearbooks listed below. My family didn't buy them every year, so I'm missing four books. If you have any you're willing to sell (or could pass this message along to anyone you know who might)--or even loan me long enough that I can scan or photocopy the pages and then return them to you--please contact me here or at dubois95grad@yahoo.com
'Am specifically looking for:
1982-83 (kindergarten with Mrs. Raybuck for me ) 1985-86 (3rd grade with Mrs. McNaughton and Mrs. Dodd for me) 1986-87 (4th grade with Mrs. Zappia and Mr. West for me) 1987-88 (5th grade with Mrs. Johnston, Mr. Vitello, and Mr. Morelli for me) (I would love to see the 1981-82 yearbook too, but the other four are more important to me.)
Thank you for your help.

Pompeii reacted to lavender in Yellow Orchids
I love the yellow Phalaenopsis orchids. They are harder to grow than the more common white and pinks and don't bloom as well. They are a smaller more fragile plant but this year I've got quite a few of them blooming. Actually, the yellows die at a great rate.
The last is a yellow/ green with a rose center. As the blossoms age they turn white. You have two colored blooms on one plant. Next to last picture is the white version.
Fifth is light yellow.
Third has an orange lip.
Second is a yellow and white orchid.
The first is a mini Phal. Its not yellow but it is cute.
Sorry, it put the pic in reverse order but I think I have them straight now.
The last one had a double flower stem as did the fourth. It was a good year for blooming orchids.

Pompeii reacted to Pappy in My dogs enjoying their new surroundings.
My dogs were relegated to the upstairs and kitchen area for about a week and a half. Yesterday they finally were allowed in the living room and they seem to enjoy it. Of course they follow me to whatever room I am in. Oh and yes the outlet covers will be put back on just havent gotten around to it yet.
While I hate snow they need to go out and run a bit but I wont let them they would be muddy messes if I did now. They really havent had a chance to enjoy this winter but I have because I dont like the snow. I suppose once I retire and dont have to drive in it I wont mind it as much
I really need some green so I can start taking pics of the garden or whatever. You know I am bored when i start taking pics of the dogs LOL come on spring daddy needs a new pepper plant LOL

Pompeii reacted to fadedgenes in Pictures from the Great Depression
Yale University released digital library of photos from the Depression Era. Link should bring up a map and then you can click on county to view photos. There are several photos in Jefferson Co. link of Ralph Reitz and family of Falls Creek/DuBois area. There are some awesome pictures of DuBois in the Clearfield link, also Tyler and other areas.

Pompeii reacted to lavender in what kind of vine is this
That is a nightshade or Atropa belladonna. It is poisonous. It is not particularly invasive but because of its poisonous nature it is generally not desirable. The berries entice children.

Pompeii reacted to lavender in Pretty Purples
I just realized how many of my garden veggies are purple this year. Fairy Tale eggplant, purple tomantillo, Indigo Rose tomato and Russian purple kale. The purple cabbage isn't ready yet and the purple rutabagas aren't either. The Fairy Tale eggplant is only about 4-5 inches long but there are at least 10 of them on each plant and you can eat them skin and all. The flesh is creamy and delicious. Highly recommend this one.
