The Valley Cave

I guess I am to young to remember any bands playing there. I do remember them having DJ's there. The one time I went Gary Stormer & Dave Anthony were the DJ's, this was before they changed to all country & before they were Q102.

On the radio they were country till 5pm, then they played pop & rock.

No! It was a theater at one time. Also a community hall, dance hall, hang out for teens, etc. It was a very popular place to go.

(First time I ever laid eyes on my future hubby was at the Cave)

Was this the old theater that was on a street to the left of where the old elementary school was?  Maybe Peach Street or that area. In 2nd or 3rd grade (1950's) I had Mrs. Long for a teacher and our class walked to the theater to see a movie.  I had friends who went to The Cave for dances.

The Cave was on Cave St, then they changed it to Apple St. It was by the post office, the old bowling alley (now garage for the buses), on Rt 555 (River Rd). It is on the first sharp right hand curve on 555.

The old elementary school was near the Weedville Methodist Church on Redwood St. The Cave was about 1/4 mile down the road from there.

(I wasn't born till '64)
