My hubby woke me up around 5:30-5:45ish to say we have  a big bull under the apple tree. He still has velvet coming off his antlers on his left side. The pics aren't real good and I was not steady at all, but you can see him.

So far I've done 35 pints of yellow wax beans and we've cut and vacuum sealed and froze 20 dozen ears of corn.  A lot of our stuffing peppers have soft spots on them and we had to toss them, but there's still some looking good for stuffing.  Cantaloupe are doing well. Potatoes like those above.

Our garden is doing great since the rain slacked off.  We removed all the yellowed leaves from the tomatoes and also sprayed with fungicide (just in case.)  Lots of nice big green tomatoes now.  Yesterday I canned my first 15 pints of yellow wax beans.  Corn will be ready for freezing soon and peppers for stuffin'.  Been eating cabbage, new red potatoes and cukes.  Cantaloupe are doing real well.

That appears to be a stream running just about the people and in front of the big house. I'm still checking out the people and what they're doing. In the original picture, to the left of the big house, there appears to be some sort of rectangular sign on a post. I could be wrong about that, but it sort of looks like it.

Can you tell by looking at the real photo what is happening? This may be a clue to where it was taken. The people seem to be congregating in the middle. Note the people closest to the edge of the picture are probably wealthy. They have covered carriages and the women are dressed in nice hats. The people in the center all seem to be men and they're also very well dressed. There are individual horses standing there as well.

Some flowers need ants in order to bloom.  I use Terro ant traps in & out of the house. Just put them where animals can't get to them.

Pink lily of the valley. This is the first year they have bloomed. I put them in about 4 years ago. I never did find the first batch I planted but these have done well. I didn't really think that they would be this pink. They are growing among white and blue forget-me-nots. There is some sweet woodruff in there and the very pink stuff in the back is dead nettle.

Cemetaries have so much history, this is where you can find out so much information, as many families are always near by.

There are at least three Catholic cemeteries in DuBois.  St. Joseps and St. Michaels in addition to the St. Catherines one.  The churches usually have pretty good records, but that only seems true until it is the history you are looking for.

It was!! It does look like he has done well over the last couple of years. It also shows that he doesn't let his disability slow him down!! We saw him run, not as fast as a 4 legged bear, but still did pretty good!!!
I was up in the woods today, I kept looking around to make sure I didn't have any company ..lol. I did see the black squirrel though.
