While out for a ride today we saw a large amount of wind turbine blades and other parts at the rail yards by Fort Worth pipe.  My question is any one know how they got there. I can’t imagine them being shipped by rail because they are huge.  Thought maybe they are assembled there. These turbines fascinate me.  I would appreciate any info.  Thanks.

They are shipped with two train cars under them that are specially designed for the job.  Then they are lifted off and into the storage position by the crane there.  Blades are all in one piece which is making it increasingly hard to transport them by truck.

Faith Marie, Midgy & Brandi spent most of the day at my house. When she first got to Amma’s house, Mama put her beside me on the couch & Chi Chi layer beside her. I took her hand & showed her how to give Chi a belly rub, Chi was eating it right up & Faith was smiling. I let go of her hand to see what she would do, she still petted her, but then she went for Chi’s head, smacked her in the snoot 2 times, grabbed her nose & pulled, then went and pulled on her left front leg. Chi just laid there & let her do whatever she wanted. I was surprised!! Chi loves her niece very much, she was the only dog the could lay on Brandi’s tummy when she was pregnant. Maybe that’s why they get along so well?!?

LOCAL Panama City reviews, accepts forensic audit results in wake of fraud by former employee
Nathan Cobb The News Herald   PANAMA CITY − After multiple scams by a former employee, local officials agree the city needs to make some changes.
Panama City commissioners on Tuesday reviewed and voted to accept the results and recommended actions of a forensic audit done by Warren Averett, an accounting firm based in Panama City. The audit's goal was to help prevent the city's fiscal and operation systems from being manipulated by employees, as well as uncover any illegitimate spending or stolen funds.
The audit was sparked by the October arrest of Michael Johnson, the city's former community redevelopment director, who was accused of embezzling money from the Friends of After School Assistance Program, a nonprofit organization that supports Panama City's After School Assistance Program.
According to Tammy McGaughy, a partner for Warren Averett, the audit delved through about a decade of financial records for various city funds. She briefed commissioners on its highlights during the Tuesday meeting.

    --------------
Past reports state Johnson resigned from his position in October after City Manager Mark McQueen confronted him about sloppy management practices. These included a lack of policies, procedures and documentation, as well as noncompliance with federal regulations related to Johnson's local role with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant Program − a program that provides governments with federal funding to develop housing for urban communities.
Johnson was arrested about two weeks later, after an account for the ASAP program was discovered at Hancock Whitney Bank that had only him on its signature card. He directed the program since 2012 and had sole access to its checkbook, which McGaughy said "afforded him the opportunity to conceal this fraud."
Statements from Hancock Bank show Johnson wrote himself checks, the first of which was written on Feb. 1, 2012, for $9,839. The largest check was written on Nov. 13, 2020, for more than $37,215.
In March, Johnson pleaded no contest to grand theft, money laundering and 19 counts of official misconduct. He was sentenced to eight years in prison. Johnson used the approximately $1 million he embezzled to purchase 11 properties. McGaughy said he then illegally used about $89,000 in CRA funds to repair four of those homes.

And besides the inherent dangers of even attempting it there is no need to waste any resources to try and recover their “bodies”, because even though they haven’t specifically come and said it, there won’t be “bodies” to recover.
By the time it reached the Titanic wreckage, the Titan submersible would have been facing a pressure of between 375 and 400 atmospheres.
The water pressure at 12,500 feet (3,800 meters) below the surface at the site of the Titanic wreck is roughly 400 atmospheres or 6,000 pounds per square inch. The sudden change in pressure during an implosion would cause immediate trauma to the human body, essentially disintegrating it, in other words break it up into small parts. What’s left of them should be left in their internal grave with the other victims of the Titanic.

While I do feel badly for the five people that lost their lives and for their families who have to endure the loss, can we take a minute to recognize that doing things willingly that contain an obscene amount of risk should not place others in peril?  Then add in the financial burden of the cost for search and rescue.

There is also a company that sends out notices to businesses that have DOT numbers that says the businesses are due to submit their biennial DOT updates, and says to contact them to do it.  Businesses don't need this service and can go to the federal FMCSA portal and do it themselves at no cost.  It's ridiculous all the scams that are out there!

AG Henry Shuts Down Scammers Targeting Pa. Businesses While Posing as Department of State
Attorney General Michelle Henry announced that a settlement was reached with a Florida-based business that had been targeting new businesses in Pennsylvania and posing as the PA Department of State to sell certificates of good standing.   The settlement, in the form of a Consent Petition, was entered with FL Certificate Services, LLC, resolving an OAG lawsuit claiming that it was operating a scam in Pennsylvania under the name “PA Certificate Service.”   The Office of Attorney General filed suit in 2021, regarding PA Certificate Service mailers to newly-registered businesses soliciting certificates.   “Many small businesses were tricked into believing they were buying certificates from the Department of State when, in reality, they were paying inflated prices to scammers,” Attorney General Henry said. “My office will not allow Pennsylvania’s state agencies to be imitated, nor will we tolerate scams targeting business owners and residents. Pennsylvania is no place for deceptive business practices.”   Under the terms of the Consent Petition, FL Certificate Services, LLC agreed to stop doing business in Pennsylvania and will pay restitution to any Pennsylvania entity and individual who  purchased an overpriced certificate.   According to the lawsuit filed by the Attorney General’s Office on July 13, 2021, PA Certificate Service conducted its scam by sending letters to Pennsylvanians who recently incorporated a new business with the PA Department of State. The letter, which allegedly imitated the appearance of a letter issued by the Commonwealth, told the recipient that they “have one step left” to obtain a “Pennsylvania Certificate of Good Standing” for $87.25. The Pennsylvania Department of State offers good standing certificates for only $40.00, and they are completely optional.   Anyone who received a letter from “PA Certificate Service” and paid $87.25 should submit a complaint to the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General within the next ninety (90) days by visiting https://www.attorneygeneral.gov/submit-a-complaint/consumer-complaint/. You may also contact the office via phone at 1-800-441-2555 or by email at scams@attorneygeneral.gov.   Pennsylvanians should be advised that even though PA Certificate Service is going out of business in Pennsylvania, “certificate scams” or similar government imposter scams are popular schemes that continue to operate in the Commonwealth and nationwide. If you recently created a business entity in Pennsylvania and received a letter requesting payment for a “Certificate of Good Standing,” a “Labor Law Poster” or anything similar, be sure to read carefully for any disclosures that the sender is not a government agency. Scammers will also often mask their real address behind a box at a UPS store or similar place.   If you have any concerns, do not hesitate to report possible scams to the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The Consent Petition was filed in the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas by Deputy Attorney General Mark Wolfe and will become effective upon approval by the Court
