Aliens in our country should not have the right to vote until they are citizens.  They know nothing about this country and how things run, and need to be indoctrinated in just as others have been in the past and go through the proper steps for full citizenship.  After that, they can have at it!  I have no problem with helping folks if they are fleeing persecution, but the U.S.A. is now overwhelmed and borders need to be closed until we handle the current influx.  Some of those in the influx need sent back and are criminals.  The rest need properly processed.  Then we can go back to running things properly and giving folks paths to citizenship on a reasonable basis.  Only so many a year should be let in.  What has happened is ridiculous.

I've been thinking about quitting FB myself.  But I have become so reliant on it for friend and family news and staying in touch with folks.  I have to admit I have gotten closer to relatives and old friends this way.  And my church has their own page and group, so I can stay abreast of what's going on there, too. It accomplishes a lot of good in my life, so I'm tempted to keep it for that reason.  Also, lost animals can be found by posting on there.   I don't like the invasive things that come across my feed, though.  The suggestive-looking, almost xrated trash that once in awhile appears.  I can get rid of some items but not all of them.  Makes me mad.

We will never see the Beggers quit voting for the government to take care of them.
I would settle for all the people who wants to vote, to vote for anyone except a Democrat or a Republican.
Our country is where it is at today because of all the votes that went to the two parties. (the only choice a voter had if they wanted their vote to count) Yet the voters still vote for one of those parties expecting change. Big T just wished for something that I have wished for forever. A chance to show his/her displeasure on what was on the ballot.
The voting process is not only crooked it is fixed in the two party's favor.

So, if you owe money, how can you give money away????

And here comes the stupid liberal answer we always get---------when the government spends money it is different than when you and I spend money.

Actually, if you look at every country you will see that every country on this planet is in debt.

    HOLIDAY EATING TIPS
    1.   Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Holiday spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

    2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly, it's rare. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

    3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

    4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

    5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Holiday party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

    6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

    7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

    8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert, Labor Day?

    9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

    10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

Remember this motto to live by:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate and wine in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming " WOO HOO   what a ride!"   MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I understand why you want a clean sweep but let's wait for the new City Council members and Mayor decide what really needs to happen. There are too many moving parts to just fire all the department heads at this point and their contracts or articles of employment need to be examined.

The devil is in the details!  How were items presented to the council or were steps taken to consolidate decision making into a select few (if so, why?)?  One would have to believe that with the severity of a federal case, anyone in the know would start 'fessing up.  I would also believe that Waste Management is not going to give cover to the city.

The payment of entertainment for community days with cash seemed stupid too. (The solicitor approved of this)
Where did the money come from for the annual year end bonuses to highly paid employees????
Is the budget balanced because excess money is being transferred from water/sewage fund?
My feelings are that whenever the council needed more revenue they just sent a sewage surcharge/ rate increase to Sandy Township.

I certainly hope that outside auditors of the local government are scrutinized.  Those here that are familiar with this process understand that a number of steps are involved before financial statements are produced, including recommendations to the local government, contact with outside vendors and steps even as far as refusing to produce statements.

Why should we work with those attacked? What have they done for us? Why can’t we just focus on what’s happening in our country instead of worrying about everyone else’s problems? Oh wait I know the answer to that. Because there’s money to be made with wars. Who cares about you and I. It’s all about lining their own pockets and making back door deals with these other countries. That’s how all these politicians become filthy rich while in office.

Petee why are you so concerned with everyone else’s problems in this world but ignore our own?

why do all these politicians that swear an oath to our country and constitution and that swear to put country first always put our country last? The answer is posted above. It’s all about the money and control. It’s definitely not country first for our “elected”..

Russia and many other Communist countries would love to have control of more land.  They also love selling weapons to terrorist countries.  Should we just sit back to see what happens or should we work with those attacked to stop the wars?  Shall we wait till there is more terrorist attacks on America or should we stay in the know and work with other countries to use alliances as stop gaps?  I think it takes people with a whole lot more strategic knowledge to figure this out that a bunch of Pennsylvania homeowners with a computer.

It's nice to see a post typed with understanding.
Do you get frustrated like I do when you see and hear posts plus the socalled news that seems to have no damn clue as to what is really going on?
If you automatically understand the underlying factors that is the truth it's frustrating and aggravating listening to those that desires to ignore the truth that is right in their face in order to satisfy the dreams they want to believe.
Our country is under attack by those that wants to change what this country was created to be.
Why can't citizens of this country see that?
Is it that hard to change your demands to have your personal beliefs not be front and center in order to live in a country that works at supplying the best it can for all it's citizens?
Ok I will make my fingers be still, for now.
    Thank you sir, for believing.

One Thing, Jesus Christ - Article #7 -  Sixth Series - October 16th, 2023 by Fr. Ben Daghir
    Article:
I had the unique opportunity of seeing Touchdown Jesus in Notre Dame a few years ago. I was on a road trip returning home from Omaha, Nebraska with Luke Daghir and some other friends from seminary.

After visiting the burial site of Archbishop Fulton Sheen in Peoria, Illinois, we headed for South Bend, Indiana. We found ourselves on the campus of Notre Dame and, in my humble opinion, the most beautiful campus in the United States. The movie Rudy, despite being one of my favorites, didn’t give the campus landscape enough justice. It’s something that one must see in person.

I was excited to look at the Touchdown Jesus near Notre Dame Stadium. I had seen it on ESPN but, like the movie Rudy, television doesn’t seem to give the massive mural any justice. The mural was unveiled on May 7, 1964 on the wall of Hesburgh Library. This is rather fitting because Jesus Christ is “The Word of Life” and it’s this Word, the source of all truth, that students fundamentally study in that library. The Word is encountered through faith and reason and through the humanities and the sciences.

The mural also stands at 134 feet high and 68 feet wide. Almost 7,000 pieces of granite form 324 panels which come together to form “Touchdown Jesus.” Another lesson can be learned from these numerical facts. St. Paul writes to the Corinthians, “As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:12). The thousands of pieces of granite would be ugly, even irrelevant on their own. Yet, these thousands of pieces come together to form something incredibly beautiful with vibrancy and purpose. In so doing, the pieces of granite reflect the diversity in skills, talents, gifts, and personalities within the Church, which is the mystical body of Christ.

It’s one thing to see the Touchdown Jesus from a distance, but it’s a far different matter to stand at its feet. I saw my vocation to the priesthood in that Touchdown Jesus mural. Although I’m just a small piece of granite, I am in that mural and my purpose makes sense only in relation to the wider picture of the Mystical Body of Christ. I am sure that many other people have had the same experience as me in their respective vocations, sufferings, hopes, joys, and dreams. It is a great grace to see oneself, to see one’s purpose in relation to the Mystical Body of Christ.

Lastly, I thought of Cardinal John Henry Newman who once stated “God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission….I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons.” The thousands of pieces of granite are sharing the same message. What the artist Millard Sheets was able to do with thousands of pieces of granite on a Notre Dame University library wall is just a small glimpse of what the Lord has done and will continue to do with humanity.

I did not call you a liar, you're just uneducated.  The books I mentioned are based on history and were best sellers for years.  I'm sure the political history is convoluted and tailored to represent exactly what Truman wanted people to remember.  Every president or political tries writing a book in an attempt to explain away how things that turned out was or wasn't their fault.  Very little of it conforms to actual history.
Remember Hillary's "It takes a Village".  Sure.
Read what the common man wrote for all the world to judge, then read some more.  Soon you'll see a pattern of truth.  It's hard to create a story that agrees with other authors when based on lies.  History can't be changed for those who have no reason to change it.  Truth is far more interesting than fiction.

You are wrong or so many fronts!  Why do you not educate yourself before spouting off such misinformation.   Jews BOUGHT the land that they were living on from Palestinians who upped the prices if they were selling to a Jew.  Then they would murder the Jews and take the land back.  They destroyed and murdered the residents of entire Kibbutzes.  Britain which was overseeing the process refused to back the Jews for fear of political and economic retaliation, and took the part of the Palestinians at every chance.  During the 7 day war which was fought to stop that violence after the British finally picked up and ran, the Jews fought, sometimes with home-made weapons and backed every country in that area into a corner, including Egypt.  In any area where they were overrun, they were murdered mercilessly.  The Jews were NEVER accused of such brutality.  They fight way TOO ethically which is why they win.
    Get the book and READ!!

Lying is a sin against God, but a coping mechanism to humans.  So who can deal with humans if they choose to lie, no one except possibly a court, and can we always trust them?  Humanity doomed itself when they tossed the only strength of this world to the side of the road and let our children believe that we can govern ourselves.
