Dobby reacted to loganent in HIGHLAND STREET TRAIN TUNNEL
Now that brings back memories.! had a lot of fun down there, like most, collecting fossels for Miss, Fairs fifth grade class. Remember her from the Olive Ave School? There was a farm behind where the school is now. last people to live there was the Langs I believe, there was also an old boarded up house about where the swings are now, it burnt in the late 60's. We spent many a summer day playing war games down on the flat between Highland Street and the tunnel with Creg L. John F. Blain H. to name a few. My older brother's shoe fell off and set on a ledge that no one could get to along the upper highwall near the tunnel, and I will always remember Ball's store where we got a dreamsicle or as many peices of penny candy as we could with returning popbottles. all this when summers seemed to last forever.

Dobby reacted to Petee in Knox Gelatin Good for What Ails Ya!
I was searching for something that would help our senior dog who was almost unable to get onto his feet since September. I do have a prescription that helps him some, but the next step was euthanasia and that was too hard for us to deal with.
I found that if you feed your animals Knox Gelatin every day, their bones and joints improve. In just three days he was moving better, so I figured if it works for him, then maybe it will work for me. I've been taking it in my smoothie for the last week or so, and I swear it is helping, plus it makes me remember to whip a smoothie for breakfast every day. Lots more than the joints have improved.
When I checked Martins and Walmart today, they didn't have any. Martins doesn't even sell it anymore. Walmart will be getting it in sometime. It's now a big seller because of its health benefits. I ended up ordering it from Amazon and getting twice as much as I would have locally. Now I have plenty for both dogs, and I ordered a container of Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate for me and hubby. It's almost the same, but better and it doesn't gel so it's better to use immediately. It's also a better alternative in that it's more chemical free. https://hollywoodhomestead.com/knox-gelatin/
At bedtime, I spoon out some of the gelatin, along with an organic carrot for each dog and they gobble it down.
Although I had almost developed an aversion to fruit, I can now pile a serving or two into myself daily via the Smoothie and it's fabulous. It fills me up for hours.
Food does help heal more than we think.

Dobby reacted to rich00 in Rockton and Ohiopyle
Rockton is a village in Union Township resting along Anderson Creek at the Brown Springs Trailhead in the Moshannon State Forest.
Rockton has natural assets similar to Ohiopyle in Fayette County.
The Rockton-Bridgeport corridor compares favorably to the Ohiopyle-Confluence corridor of the Great Allegheny Passage in location, topography, whitewater classification, water trail, vertical drop, put-in, take-out, history, railroad accessibility and nearby assets.
The Cumberland-Frostburg corridor of the Great Allegheny Passage features a ride on a steam locomotive with bicycle storage, ascending from Cumberland to Frostburg on a 15-mile trip. The trail downhill to Cumberland is a

About 18 years ago my friend David Spuck and I took a hike from Continental road above Sabula down the ridge to Winterburn and returned up the valley through Hickeyville on the old railroad grade there was seven very nice large beaver dams on the way back, we also seen many bobcat tracks and several Coyotes running away from us. About all that is left of Hickeyville is the big foundation pad the water tower for the railroad used to stand on.

I checked out the Paranormal page. It looks as though we are, and have been "normal" for a long time.

Dobby reacted to Brewery Researcher in Researching the old DuBois Brewery, looking for help and especially pics, please?
I have been researching the DuBois Brewing Company architecture for a number of years, and while I have found many great exterior pics on the web (especially those at the wonderful Historical Society site) I have come up completely "dry" as to finding anything much at all in the way of "interior" Brewery photographs in general.
I am particularly interested in documenting the stand-alone Office Building (built later on in 1905-1906) with its basement room "Sternewirth" where I understand beer was served to the employees, and especially the second floor oak paneled "Social" room with large decorative painted murals which was located next to the Executive Offices. I'd actually be very interested in pics of any and all interior rooms of that Office Building from any time period, and any exterior shots as well.
For my research, finding Period pics from around the time of the building's completion in 1905-1906 (or thereabouts), especially of those two particular rooms would be an absolute Godsend akin to finding the Holy Grail! After many years, I have just about given up trying to find such interior shots, but hope springs eternal and I'm clinging to the idea that maybe I have just been looking in the wrong places... so I'm trying this. I would be eternally grateful if someone local might be able to please help me either with pictures, or by pointing me in the direction of potential research avenues to find such pics. Thanks in advance for any and all kind assistance.
