I had no idea how expensive and how long it takes to get a vet appointment to have Spaying and Neutering done till we adopted a young female cat this past Wednesday. She was dropped off where I work as a stray. Hubby loved her immediately as she is very friendly and such a lovely girl. Our one outdoor/woodshop cat is probably feral as she just showed up here at our house years ago being very skittish and unfriendly. She only allows us to pet her. The other is our grandson's cat which he got as a kitten when his Dad lived here. It's a Maine Coon cross and he is very independent and also stand offish unless he wants something. The new one (now christened Rosie) of course must be spayed asap. She is in quarantine till it's safe to let her outside alone during the day. So I started the search to find an appointment that we can afford. I got dates clear out to the end of May and prices that would make anyone reconsider adopting a cat and it's everywhere! I called all over our local vets for info and was just simply shocked! With a cat population out of control, I would imagine someone locally is doing something, but where? Today I found a clinic in Ridgway that is apparently done every month. Bravo! I wonder if our area could carry out such an event on a regular basis? Does anyone know of any clinics that happen locally? I would be tickled to help out on a regular basis and have friends who said the same thing. Fundraisers would probably make it easier to get it done also. Help?2 points

Therapy Dogs Help Destress As part of Destress Fest, students got to be part of two events today at the PAW Center. Several therapy dogs visited to help calm those finals nerves students might be experiencing as we close in on the end of the semester. Our library also shared some bubble tea with students as well. > Penn State DuBois1 point

No matter who wins, we will not have to spend 4 years listening to what I did or what I can do. Raise your hand if you are tired of 4 years of "elect me" instead of seeing 4 years of useful governing.1 point

They are supposed to be educated on such things. They have just sat back and collected their pay. They, of all people, should have seen this coming a long time ago. After all, they have been in charge of brainwashing these rich snot nose kids for years. They need to be fired and have any retirement gifts taken away from them This country needs to start standing up to the lazy non-productive status quo. NOW1 point

Local Cat TNR Clinic needed!
Polo reacted to disgruntled for a topic
Punxsy Animal Hospital used to have one monthly, but unfortunately the veterinarian passed away very unexpectedly in January 2024 at the age of 45(ish). You may want to try Allegheny Spay & Neuter in Woodland, or talk to someone with DuBois' Purrfect Paws--they have occasionally "sold" spots they had reserved for their fosters if they didn't have enough cats/kittens for those spots. I think there is also one in the Kittanning area as well: Frankie's Friends. Thanks for giving a critter a home.1 point -

Well, I guess they will have to arrest me, because I'm not going to hire anyone with a drug record or DUI record; because if I do, my insurance will not cover them as a driver if they are in an accident while they are driving my vehicles. Then I could also get sued royally by any victim. No thanks!1 point -

Questions not asked, avoiding the truth

Agreed! Women who embrace this ideology are unwittingly surrendering hard earned rights to men that are invading their spaces. Men pretending to be Women have no place in women's sports. Making sports co-ed is NOT a solution to this as many have proposed.1 point
