  1. I don't have a dog in this fight either, but  DS 58 makes a good point about cycles.  And most of us ATV and buggy drivers are just crossing the roads or are briefly on them to get from trail to trail.  And most of us are very careful and pull over to the side if a vehicle is behind us.  We also carry insurance on our equipment.  You are always going to have irresponsible people on the roads.  That goes for cars, trucks, suvs, cycles and buggies.

  2. I have a bunch of apple trees, as well as pear, cherry, peach, and blueberry bushes.  My blueberries do well every year.  However, as Petey said, the other items not so much.  Yes, this year was a notable banner year.  I was so busy during harvest season, and didn't get much of a break until recently.  Pear jam and bread, peach pie, apple sauce, jam, and bread, and blueberry picking kept us plenty busy.  Not to mention the big cucumber, and pepper crops this year as well.  My tomatoes were ok but not as plentiful as I would have liked.  I grow heirloom tomatoes, and they are very late compared to other varieties I have grown.  I hate to think of next near.  Will be disappointed if its not as good.  Guess we have to take what we get, though.

You do know football is a soap opera right? Lol

Ya, pretty much, but I enjoy the sport and like to hear about it rather than who is dating who.  Now don't get me started about the pay, etc.  No one is worth that kind of money.  However, it is fun to follow.

So, you've "had enough of Taylor Swift", yet went on here to mention her?   You are feeding the exact frenzy you claim to be against.  :duh:

I'm no Swiftie, but I'm happy to see two people who appear to be very happy.  I hope they are "the one" for each other.  We all need some "good" in the news.

Good point.  Won't be talking about her from here on out.  I still feel the same, though.  I want to hear about football, not who is dating who.  Sick of the soap opera.

Just wondering which restaurant is was. The employees and or management apparently tried to hide her from the authorities. And i highly doubt they were doing it for her own protection.

The business made a post about this on Facebook.  Trying to explain themselves.  Said this girl was visiting her boyfriend, and was only in the restaurant 20 min., then decided to help with dishes.  Sounds pretty fishy.  I won't mention the name, but they also have a business in St. Marys too.  Someone I know who has ties to law enforcement felt the same, and feels she was definitely a victim of human trafficking.

woman at sheetzz says she was approached by them.....no phone call mentioned .....Emeril sez..

I got my info from WJAC Channel 6 on line.  The court document is there in PDF form if you want to check.  Read pages 54 and 55, which is "Incident with Mayor Randy Schmidt."  You will see that the Police Chief is not mentioned until the second time Mr. Suplizio contacted Ms. Potter, the Loss Prevention Person for Sheetz.  And the "mention" was later in the call when Mr. Suplizio wasn't getting anywhere.  What does that say to you?

I disagree about implicating the chief in being the courier of "the ceiling tile money" to the bank--someone needed to secure it--the bank, in a reported separate account, did that.  He was acting as a city employee securing money that is believed to belong to the city's taxpayers.

TC holding it for any length of time is wrong and she should be held accountable for those actions.

The other part about chief though--I agree.  Strongly suggesting that charges be dropped just because of who someone is, is wrong.  However, we really don't need another employee receiving a paycheck while they sit on their sofa watching Hulu and not working.  One is bad enough.  Send him to work.

How can you guys be so sure the Chief was in on pressuring the Sheetz Manager to drop the charges?  The way I read the report that is going around, Mr. Suplizio stated that the Chief was also on the line with him and the Sheetz lady, but was he really?  I read nothing of what the Chief supposedly spoke, so I wonder if he was even in on the call.  Perhaps it was just a ploy by Mr. Suplizio to pressure the lady.  I would be very careful about implicating the Chief of Police.  I have never heard a bad word about him, and as far as I can see, he has been very upstanding.  Also, if someone is guilty of theft, I seriously doubt he is going to try to cover it up.

  8. This has to be stopped!  If this continues, and if they get involved with the gangs, our military could be outnumbered, then we would be like the other countries where these folks came from!  We need a new President who puts a stop to this.  And I know who can!  That's why they are working so very hard to stop him!  I don't think they will succeed.  The American people are sick of what's happening.  We need a hard nosed President who won't take crap from anyone.

  9. I don't know about you all, but I have had enough of the Taylor Swift news at the football field.  Who cares?  I sure don't!  I have nothing against her at all.  I would just rather hear about football news!  Players have been dating and having famous people in the box for years.  Why all of a sudden is this a big deal?  Come on, news people, get a life!

Still off topic. We also have way too many gambling places in the area now. Some are open 24/7. Is there that much extra money around here that allows people to gamble whenever the urge hits them?

Sad to say, I think sometimes the people who do the most gambling are the ones who really don't have it.  They think they are gonna make it big, and in the end they lose out.   I could never see blowing your hard earned money on a chance.  I have been to a few casinos in my time.  I reserve an amount I can stand to lose.  Which is small.  And when it is gone, I'm done.  Sometimes I fare well, and sometimes I don't, but no harm done to my wallet.

  11. I'm kinda getting off topic, but don't we have enough smoke shops in the area?  We also have way too many auto parts places, too!    I hardly ever see anyone in the new O'Reilly place. The shooting place is needed, as we don't have much of that kind of thing around here.  I really wish we had more clothing stores around here.  I like TJ Maxx, but if I want something more, I have to go out of town.

  12. If we let everyone do what they darn well please in public, we will have chaos and folks' safety will be at risk.  That's why there has to be certain rules at ballgames, etc.  We all should have freedom to do things, but if that freedom is a risk to others' well being, it needs to be restricted in certain places.  In this case, an alligator could just up and decide to attack someone.  Especially children who are small and may want to touch the animal.  A wild animal is unpredictable.  I hope if a Judge has to hear this, he or she has some common sense!

Just a shout out to the Hahne nurses. They are great.

My wife (Mr. D"s daughter) has been diagnosed with cancer and this is her 4th week of Chemo. We will be going until Feb. and then radiation.

The nurses are very good and caring. Kudos to them

The patients are lucky to have them.

I get a kick out of everyone waiting for the soup cart. I will say it is good. I look forward to it also. While not as tasty as my wife's soup it is still good.

There is a guy near us who is wanting that soup. Haha

Seriously though people are lucky to have these nurses caring for them.

It will be a long process and emotionally draining for her and me but we will get through it.

A local team of Amish workers is looking for Saturday jobs.  One day or several Saturdays in a row.  Call 814-481-3203 and leave a message.

I hope they get a lot of takers.  There are people needing things done, and can't find anyone because folks are inundated with their type of work right now.  I have observed their work over the years, and the ones I have seen work hard, and know their craft well.  They also work in adverse conditions.  I have a lot of respect for them.
