Never said it was a full time job. But if he’s a big time Pittsburgh attorney for a big corporation, they typically expect 50-60 hours a week and being on call 24/7. I doubt he's working much over 40 hours a week.

Maybe the deadbeats that the city is paying for to defend should of got themselves and HER another more reasonably priced attorney.

I pay for half of my benefits and don't get all but $500 of my copay paid for. Things that make ya say hmm. I seriously doubt being on the council will hinder his work in any way and vice versa. I am pretty sure other members on the city council etc have full time jobs and are on other organizational boards etc. BillyC

L8RG8R
Any update on community days this year? I would assume a lot of the free stuff will be cut this year which would make it a pretty sparse event. Hopefully enough paying citizens show up to buy food from the vendors since their organizations depend on the revenue to stay alive. They could have seen it was wrong and said no. It wasn't offered to one - Shannon Gabriel -but offered to others who were appointed afterwards to fill vacant seats (Dietz) - and seemed to be done in secret. Even if it is allowed by the state, it should be a point brought up to the people who accepted it. Why wasn't it public knowledge? Why wasn't it offered across the board to all council? How did they feel this was a savings for the taxpayers by having us pay for their insurance? (Most have decent jobs that offer insurance or are on Medicare. What were they thinking?) Then, there is the issue of council getting in on the municipal pensions. How is that a thing? redmill and block 1

He most likely would have had to seek the permission of his employer to pursue this avenue. Many employers need to make sure their employees aren't going to engage in any conflicts of interest--unlike our city government apparently. *Even those that aren't employed by a law firm.
