Many years ago, doing business "on a handshake" was an honored way of doing business because if you didn't honor that agreement, then everyone in your area knew it and you only got your respect back by hiding out in your house or by doing right by the agreement.  Now, with so many strangers surrounding us, we don't even know our neighbors or what they may or may not be up to.
I remember when business with Sandy Twp was like that but it is no more.  Long ago, they had to start bein g more business like, and in my opinion, they have done a really good job overall because it's still rural and a LOT of people know your business.  It helps you keep your nose clean!  Always a good thing.
"Knowing somebody" who will cover for you or do questionable favors is the beginning of the end as far as honesty is concerned.

Each entity will deal with their own specific charges individually.  However, since the evidence is so mixed together, they will all have to deal with it jointly to sort it out.

Ah Ha!  I have the story now.
A couple of years ago, the Downtown Beautification Committee asked the garden clubs and volunteers to meet to help with flower pots and flowers downtown.  The meeting was held at Luigi's next to the City Parking Lot.  There were quite a few odds and ends of pots that had been purchased/donated for use for sidewalk planters.  They didn't match in size, style or plantings, and the committee wanted to update the appearance of them.  I did a planter class for them to show how to improve the care of them which makes it a little easier to keep them looking nicer.  However, I warned them that the key was regular watering and without it, the planters would go downhill over the summer, which some did, but the ones at the corner of Long and Brady were pretty well kept up.  The two biggest ones were donated by the VFW of DuBois and had donation signs in them.  I have no idea who cared for them or where they went, but the BUDS Gardeners were asked last year to remove their pots from the street project because Jennifer had received a large donation from Invensys to purchase all new matching pots and plants and she would plant them, which she did.  They looked very nice but I did tell the committee that they needed to not "diss" the past volunteers who had taken care of pots for years.  They are a valuable commodity and you never want to lose them.  The money might not last, nor might a specific volunteer, and then where would they be?  Annoying a volunteer is a no-no.
The Rose Alley parking lot has been maintained by DTEGC ever since the Brady Street Rebuilding project was done.  I was the president at that time, worked privately with privately donations, with the city engineer to design the openings for the planting beds. My husband and I built the round concrete circle where we used to have a fountain that was destroyed by vandals.  The city added the electric and a water hydrant for us. The circle is used in the winter for the Christmas display.  Hubby also built the wooden gift boxes that are part of the display.  The specially welded (and expensive) tree stand was built with donation funds to keep the trees from falling over repeatedly.  If I remember correctly, the concrete was donated by DuBrook and the surfacing was done by a gentleman from Penfield. It took many combined hours and skills to get it all done, and it was all volunteer.  The installation of the wooden fence at the rear of the property was also done by volunteers, and the large rocks beside the clothing store was from the same project. I seriously doubt any of it would be there or remain well cared for without LOTS of volunteers.  You don't risk losing your volunteer base.
An agreement with the city and DTEGC was signed due to liability to specifically use those flower beds, and to my knowledge it is still in effect.
Eddie Tate from the Beautification Committee was to take care of the maintenance of the pots.  I do not know if he still does.  If Jennifer was taking plants from the beds, she was out of line.  I do not know her well enough to know why she would do that.  The only thing approved by the committee was the placement, planting and maintenance of the street pots, nothing else.  The Rose Alley parking lot is owned and maintained by the city, commonly known as Luigi's parking lot, and the Down To Earth Garden Club maintains it.

Yes! Amen! everything has to happen in the proper order, not the order we would choose, but just like dominoes and pick up sticks, in order to not create a crash, you have to carefully proceed.  Trump is working constantly to set the stage for recovery, so he has ten times the job to do that he had to do when he first took office.  No other president has faced such insane opposition.  Yet, he manages to succeed!  Amen.

I absolutely love to read well written obituaries about people who have lived good productive lives in our area.  It makes you feel like there was another friend in the area that you just didn't get a chance to meet, and makes you wonder how many more there could be waiting to be found!

Time will dig up a lot of answers.  Now that the door has been opened, don't make us look like a bunch of dumb hicks.  Keep your eyes and minds open to better ideas, and where we need to make sure it doesn't happen again.
That includes all of the major changes that have happened here in the last 20-30 years.  When did this problem really start?  It's time to find out.

I think this situation is dangerous enough to warrant a police presence there if only at peak traffic hours.  Not everyone has the skills to dodge through that intersection successfully.  Even one person injured is way too many!!!
Nine lanes of entering traffic plus trains and foot traffic with a flashing red signal is NOT even vaguely acceptable  handling of this situation.  I go clear back around the Mall to avoid that mess.  Otherwise I use the meadow roads to get around it.  It will only take one mistake to make a serious problem for someone else.  The flashing red is NOT OK.

Your attitude is part of the problem, you can't consider a better community in spirit, just the old one because you don't like change, even for the betterment of the spirit of the whole.

Trump is working for our country as he always was.  Enough people stand behind him to have prevented Biden from getting access to the Nuclear Codes plus a lot more destructive information.  Now if they would just cut the purse strings.
Past presidents can play a huge role in social reconstruction if they choose to do so.  Trump and his supporters are making a major difference even with the concerted mega efforts of Democrats to stop him. Right makes might!
Give the man due credit for not sticking his head in a hole on his golf course and telling the country to go fly a kite!
