Supposedly our country has been being infiltrated by foreign spies who are waiting for orders to act.  On what?  Who knows.
Everyone better hope that ICE is also in our midst and knows who they are.
Pray for our ICE agents and the military who are ordered to work with them.  I'm sure they are not feeling good about being in the middle of this mess.  How they sort out the immigrants from the citizens is probably very complicated.  The immigrants can do anything they please, but the agents are under serious pressure to do nothing unless attached.  I would not want their job, but we better hope they love theirs and will do a great job!

Oh, everyone has been so good to me today!!  We went to Portage to have our family Christmas with almost all of our family.  The turkey was stuffed, and now, so am I!!
I am 78 years old, and hopefully I'll grow up soon!
    Thank you!

You were stressed.  Just take it as a reason to sit and talk to God for a while about it.  It's somewhat normal for this to happen, but we're supposed to learn new ways of dealing with it.  It's all of us, not just you.

I'm almost 78 years old and have been hearing this same story for as long as I can remember.  Yet Sandy Township is amazing for how it has grown. They seem to be way ahead of the game and I don't think it was all about available land.  Everything they grew was on the outskirts of the business area and had to fight to get permission for water use.  They grew anyway.
DuBois never seems to grow much and it's NOT about land.  It's about the business world is handled there.  There is no sense of entrepreneurship, pride in development such as Ed Tate has shown.  Very few businesses are driven enough or have the knowledge of HOW to grow if they try.  If they make a living, then they are content.  Also, I don't think they have ever hired a good developer with skilled experience.  If they were serious, like Julie Stewart is, they would be working on every corner of available space and finding ways to use the second floors of the downtown area.  I had a business there and we did all kinds of improvements to the building.  Desert Storm put the end to that but the building went from unusable to fair condition because I invested pretty much everything back into it while I worked at Wendys on the Boulevard and raised 4 teens.  I sold my share for about 300% more than I paid.  I was going to start on the second floor so I could rent it out, but everything conspired to stop me.  I was worn to the bone but at least I tried and used some determination.
DuBois should show more initiative doing improvements to their businesses and less to ignoring problems and depending on raising taxes.  That never builds anything!!

I would rather pay the extra taxes and not have to rely on the State Police.  They would either be over-used or problems that were resolved by our local police would be underserved.
Also, with the way terrorists have been infiltrating the United States, the more local police the better.  ICE needs locals who are familiar with the people they are serving and who are the real problems, not an officer who doesn't know who he is dealing with.

Eat an egg or more a day.  They are a perfect food, not a problem as long as you eat them without the food additives of excess salt, mayonnaise, butter, toast, and other stuff added to them.
Eggs are a perfect protein meant for our bodies just as they are.  I eat almost a dozen a week and the doctor is amazed at my cholesterol, but then I only eat Arnolds Seeded Keto Bread with the best butter I can buy with them.  Over easy with liquid yolks cooked on low heat or hard boiled.  Never fried hard which are the ones to avoid.
I enjoy food but at almost 78, I'm trying harder to eat better.  Much more lean protein, much more salad (with no dressing, just quality pink salt which I am usually borderline low on, a lot more fresh fruit and as few carbs and chemicals as possible, with good vitamins and only well water and one cup of real coffee to sip on all day.  I make a coffee drink with it and it's very satisfying.
Excellent sleep is also a priority.

Hurry, it's already cold so save yourself the worst of winter and get some kind of a secure self-watering system set up.  Hubby has lugged water out, sometimes twice a day, in blizzards, below freezing temperatures and ice!  It isn't pretty.

That's the problem, a clean jointure of two clearly consenting communities with good positive ties would probably be a good thing.  However, this was not the case.  All history warned against it being done without great care and preparation.  Money seemed to be the highest goal, not living conditions.
The continued squabbling and apparent inability to discuss calmly and VERY openly seem to continue to be a sore spot not to be solved.
Where do we find grown ups, capable of making fair adult, agreed on decisions.  Whether reasonable or not, I do not safe, especially in light of the way the waterfall collapse was communicated.  We need someone who does not think that their PRESENCE on the Board is more important than the welfare of the weakest citizen.
I voted no from the very beginning, and as it developed it was looking worse and worse.  Now the fruit is beginning to show and it still has rotten spots.  It should NEVER have been called DuBois although I love that name.  I think John DuBois would have heartily agreed.  However, was it voted on?   Why are people who were involved in the takeover still involved?  I would love to see highly educated people from the needed variety of skills, well thought of in the community or outside of it, thoroughly investigated and vetted by the community by at least an 80-90% favorable opinion to be appointed (not voted in) to the board, with the stipulation that a 50% recall would remove them from the board.

This comes down to fraud in order to get Sandy Township voters to swallow the story.  During the campaigning to get votes, it was always said that Sandy Township's taxes would go down and DuBois would go up to cover their debts.  So, are Sandy Township voters getting the dubious honor of paying off the city's debt?  Sandy was in the black and DuBois was seriously in the red.
When we did the petition they asked for the consolidation to be suspended till the financial problems of DuBois were settled which includes the bill from Herm's court trial.  Who is paying for that?

I know from my husband's 27 years in the Army, the problems, the successes, the discipline known only in the military, and the benefits for him and I now.
If you are considering a career in the military, then ask lots of questions, and get yourself fit, mentally and physically, and ask a LOT of questions.  When you are satisfied with the conditions related to working in the military, then get yourself to a recruiter.  Be sure of what you are talented at, already well trained for, and can build on in the military training.  Going in with nothing means they will find the best position for you (that is open) and they will place you there after any special training needed.  You may not have much control of it, so being prepared is an absolute.  Nothing is guaranteed but you can definitely swing the odds in your favor if you are prepared.  High skills are definitely needed to obtain the specialty you want.  You will come out with top job skills.  Moving has to be on your list for the future, but getting back to your home town is a high possibility eventually.  Party boys rarely succeed without problems.  Get your act together before joining.
Marriage and family are workable as long as you take time to find the right mate.  The spouse has to be prepared for the military life and want it.  Dedication is what makes it all doable.
There are air, water and land jobs, office jobs, security jobs, medical search and rescue jobs, cooking, maintenance, anything you desire as long as you have the training and aptitude and look for the proper opening in the ranks.   Be smart when you prepare.  Know what you are looking for.
Support of veterans is excellent.  I cannot complain about the benefits now because improvements and more consideration of the soldiers themselves by the government has polished the security of the soldier.  The soldier is now worth much more than just a body to fill the ranks.  I applaud President Trump for his love and respect of our soldiers.  It wasn't always that way.
Twenty years and sufficient points is a complete career, and you can retire with great benefits according to your performance in the military.

Make them a swing to play on and some roosts in a higher corner.  They love them. Once they get comfy with you, feed them by hand occasionally and they will probably jump up on your lap for a petting session.  Once the hens are fully adult they will probably squat when you pet them!  Beware.  That's not poop, it's an invitation for a date!

The new light pattern for left hand turns is terrible.  It always flashes yellow requiring you to do a Kamakazi run when there appears to be an opening at Brady and Park.  Three lights will usually get you through during the busy times.  You cannot see well enough going up Brady on that curve to be sure no one is coming with other traffic ahead of you blocking the view!
What happened to a solid green for left hand turns.  It's at the intersection of Shaffer and Maple Avenue also coming from Rockton.

It's like giving a bunch of hooligan children the deed to your property.  They may do right because some of them have good hearts and have proven it, and then there are others who have caused problems for the other kids and yourself.  You cannot feel secure again, always watching over your shoulder to see if you will have a home.
Why can't they realize that to temporarily leave things as they were, then slowly and succinctly set out goals to be dealt with. Rushing into things like a monument (is this like the gravestone in front of the United Way that was originally plunked on Brady Street) gives a really bad impression.
I would have thought things like defining areas of the "City" of DuBois would have taken extreme precedence so people in those areas will possibly know what is coming.   How will they be different as to their past history?  Will they get a fair shake since they unwillingly gave up their home area.  I'll bet NONE of them wanted to be a part of a CITY.  Even in the Bible, Abraham was warned not to let Lot go into a city to live. He was specifically warned that they are not good places.  If you want a vacation or some peace, do you go into town and relax?
It appears that they are just jumping from money project to money project, and whether that's true or not, it upsets the citizens with the most to lose.
How about backing up and dealing with the hearts and psychology of the area first, then slowly instituting well explained and approved projects that include the best agreed on interests of EVERYONE, not just those who are like new millionaires with no instinct for others, except to use their money for your pet projects.
This stems from a long history of deserved distrust between the two entities.  One went broke while the other flourished.
Going ahead at this speed with all of the occurring disagreements will eventually take everyone down.

Not all kids are suited for anything other than General Math Skills.  Although they should definitely be introduced to Advanced Math, to push them beyond just to raise test levels is ridiculous.  Tech students need all the higher basics.  Even farm kids planning to follow that skill need higher computer and math skills today along with AG education.  Farming today is complicated.  Kids need to be introduced to jobs much earlier in their lives than they are today so they have at least a little clue as to what they might choose to do as a vocation.  Lots of kids graduate with absolutely no idea and founder around till they fall into something that pays the bills.  Gee, that's something that a dedicated School Counselor might be great at.  When I asked about college information, I was aimed at a shelf of books and told to look for what I wanted. I just left the office.

I did tell Penn State but they couldn't find out what happened to my own Windows 11.  Sometimes you would call there and the person you speak to was a genius, and sometimes they were as confused as I was.  particularly when it wasn't a name I knew so I assumed they were filling in for someone else.
I have not worked there for a couple of years, and truthfully I never thought of it again till now.  They were very good to me, but another person ruined the experience and I absolutely loved the job.  I can't deal with that again.  Two nights of the ER and over a year of recuperation are something I don't want to even remember.  I'd rather buy another computer and program.
