Today, Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Military.
We are also mindful and appreciative today of all members of the U.S. Military who serve to protect and defend the Constitution and We the People.

You are right there is no law just as there is no law that says I have to call them they/them or ze. I will use their name period when addressing the person and if they don't like it then they can just keep on walking and leave me alone.

This should not have been her decision.   She should have been required to be in the non binary division.  That is where the event holders could have stopped this situation from happening.

One of the few times we agree. Mother Nature could wipe us out. By using technology, scientific knowledge and machines we have to make it harder for her to do so.  Physically, for our size, we are among the weakest creatures on the planet. One chimp could tear apart someone like Arnold Schwartzenegger in his prime.  Yet we have become the most successful species on the planet. We became the dominant species via science and technology. Chimps, our closest animal relative,  are endangered.

Hey, while I'm thinking about it, if you worked for somebody who learned you had said something someone found offensive, would you quit before you got fired or would you get that sensitivity training to keep your job?

While I am thinking about this question there are many answers to it. First and foremost, just who in the hell found what I said offensive???? Am I supposed to worry about every cupcake in this world and just who are they to dictate to me what I can say or not say?
You just explained why I felt the need to make a list of what I believe you do, in my last post. Your more worried about someONE than all of us. I happen to believe that ALL of US actually counts for something in this free country and we need to quit listening to every freakin' someONE everyday.

Hopefully DuBois will read and believe this article.  For years, trees have been planted in the city, but planted incorrectly.  To achieve the goals of a cooler atmosphere in summer through shade and evaporation, Feeding the soil around the tree roots, planting a proper selection of tree for the location, and selecting appropriate locations in which to plant trees and shrubs, you need a Tree Commission of people educated in how to achieve a good city tree forest.  Just stuffing a pretty balled and burlapped/wire basketed or root bound tree into a barely sufficient hole with unhealthy soil and insufficient water available, will result in exactly what we have right now.  Dead, dying or missing trees.  Money thrown at the problem won't solve it.

I do not want to defend nor condemn anyone until the forensic accounting & judicial process has played out.  A majority of voters from both municipalities have endorsed the merger and what has been alleged should not affect the final outcome, though it may determine how it occurs.
I believe the name should be "City of DuBois", but I also believe districts should be adopted, such as "Sandy District" and "Treasure Lake District".
Some here should be old enough to recall the school district merger of DuBois, Sandy, Sykesville, etc., and how it was facilitated by having the surrounding towns retain identity through the elementary schools.  That merger is now approaching 60 years past and many of the firebrands for and against are now arguing about in their afterlife.  My point is our area cannot be short-sighted about what has allegedly occurred.  That die has been cast and there is nothing that can change facts.  Work on improving what we can, but do not ignore the past or let the past have undo influence on our future.

The big question here is why would the Republicans run a quack TV doctor who lives in New Jersey to run for Senate in Pennsylvania? To me Oz never seemed particularly conservative, The Pennsylvania Republicans just wanted to go for a celebrity candidates. So couldn't they find a suitable home-grown celebrity candidate without New Joisey's Oz's baggage. Not complaining, but it does seem odd.

Back when I was living in a house I wanted neighbors who would mind their own business, not have loud parties in the middle of the night, and if their kids were hoodlums I wanted them to keep their hoodlum ways off of my property. I was lucky. All my neighbors were nearly perfect and I have no idea whether they were Christian or not, conservative or not.

Changing a few inches of flesh to fit how your brain wants to see your body, comparing that to adding feet of height, reversing age, and changing your race...Come on, You are one of the more intelligent posters here. That is a stupid, flimsy argument that is way beneath you. If you and others honestly don't believe it is impossible for a male to sincerely wish to female, or a female to sincerely wish to be a male, then say it. Don't embarrass yourself with such inane tripe. I suspect there are a lot of people on here who have tried on a dress out of curiosity, rather liked the feeling, took it off and never thought about again until this trans issue comes up. Then they panic and wonder, "what if I liked the dress because I am really a woman! That cannot be! Ban the trans!" Well, maybe you liked the dress because you're really Scotch and your parents never told you.
The reason I mentioned uterus transplants isn't because I imagined transwomen getting  pregnant. if the uterus functioned properly it would be the source of female hormones. No more shots of synthetic hormones. Same with a transman getting a penis and testes. The testes would naturally produce testosterone and the added penis would allow the transman to amble up to the urinal and pizz (the preferred spelling here, apparently) like any other man. If transfolk want to have babies, frozen eggs from the presurgery transman, frozen sperm from the presurgery transwoman mixed to grow in an extrauterine device and you have a happy baby with two loving (one hopes) transparents. (which I understand is the name of a TV show).  That of course will be decades in the future.
If you're concerned about tax money being spent on gender confirming surgery as its called, there are several foundations that will pay for that. Your tax dollars, therefore, will go toward buying private yachts, helicopters and jets for business tycoons who need them for business, and who can then get a tax write-off on them later, just as God intended.
To deal with the unhappiness you feel over your male pattern baldness, call this number tomorrow. You will surely find help: (814)375-6379.
I don't know whether I want to create a synthetic world, but I would like to see a world where people are free to pursue their own happiness as long as they don't hurt others in doing so, where bullies are not tolerated, where all individuals are treated as equals, without regard to status or wealth, and where people are ruled by law, not the powerful, and where leaders in any field exist to serve the people under them.
Now, full disclosure: When I was eight I saw some of my sister's panties laying in a drawer. Out of curiosity I tried one on.  As soon as I did I felt very weird, very uncomfortable. Didn't like it. Pulled them off and never did anything like that again. So I can safely say I am not at all inclined to being trans. 😁😜

Yes crime is due to something other than Liberalism. It is due to the actions of the criminals. And many of these criminals are proud of their murder and mayhem. Doesnt matter if they are a crip or a neonazi. Going to prison even getting the death penalty is a badge of honor to these people. And Liberal run big cities tend to be crime ridden because they are big! They are very difficult to manage! You could put a tough law-and-order administration like Rizzo in Philadelphia or Guiliani in NYC and they will not make much of a dent in crime. Why? Because they are so big! Yet young people flock to live in these cities and it isn't because they have a big crime problem. Why? They are so big and have much to offer ambitious young people. And then the tough law-and-order mayors go to far fighting crime and ruin some of the things that attract people to cities and that people who live in cities enjoy. Remember how the Guiliana-era ACDC song "I Feel Safe in New York City" end? "I feel safe in a cage!" Living in a municipality ridden with crime is part of the price of enjoying big city life. Those who don't like it are free to move somewhere else.
