Cardinal Fan
Do you add stale bread, saltine crackers or canned breadcrumbs to your meatloaf and why. Trying to figure out which one to use.
Petee
Bread is bread other than the moisture content. I had a friend who added mashed potatoes to hers and it was wonderful!

Bon
I mix brown sugar, mustard and ketchup for the topping. My brother told me to try that back in probably the late 80's. Snickers
etsaunt
Love this topic! I have tried many ways of making it but always something missing. Think I will try the brown sugar, mustard and ketchup. Gram's always had alittle sweet crust on top so this might be the trick. I find myself wishing I paid more attention to the way my gram and mom made things because they never wrote things down and now they are not here to ask Shmoopie11
lavender
The beauty of meatloaf is that you can throw anything in it and it is still meatloaf and still tastes good.

Ignatius
Well, you were wondering where the bus terminal was. Figured it had to do with some long gone connubial hook-up and that song would remind you! Hope she don't take off like a "Bat out of Hell"! watoos
I mix brown sugar, mustard and ketchup for the topping. My brother told me to try that back in probably the late 80's. I do that too, but I mix that right in with everything, not just basted on top. Snickers

Guest steelergirl
back to the main topic: we use italian bread crumbs, eggs, ketchup, garlic, chopped onion, and worchestershire sauce. I add woosey sauce to my burgers too, it adds lots of flavor.
