The gambling aspect has been whispered about, but I don't understand it. Look, I realize this is not a court and all concerned will get their day there. But, could someone fill  in the gapsmon the gambling accusations?

Supposedly a lot of times going to Salamanca that the AG's office has records of. And from what i've heard (even though we all know Squirm is not very intelligent) he not a very good gambler. Probably just trying to impress his girlfriend and other people with how much money he had. The trips to Vegas were to try to get some of the big money out that way to support his unsuccessful run for senate.

Gambling has been a goal for this area for a long time.  At some point in time in the past, there was an attempt to start a casino at the Tannery Dam hotel.  It was in the Courier and it was denied.  Gambling goes hand in hand with sports.

Now, you fill in the blanks.

Until all facts are known and proven in a court of law, my opinion remains neutral.  Let the accused face the accuser.  Don’t let hyperbole destroy the city or the consolidation.

SPECULATION is : don`t tie them both together !!.... Speculation was the death sentence for consolidation , in that Dubois speculated they would reap benefits and $$$ from Sandy

Sounds like the counsel agreed to pay up to $10,000 attorney fees to anyone that's been subpoenaed to the grand jury.  That also includes any subpoenaed volunteer fireman.  The current solicitor felt it would be unwise to let them be questioned without talking to an attorney first.  Sounds like people are getting scared.  People who have done something wrong would want to talk to an attorney.  People who are protecting important people who have done something wrong would want to talk to an attorney.  People who have done nothing wrong and aren't preceding anyone don't need to talk to an attorney.  Just tell the truth.

I'll bet you half a buck and an Iron City Light it won't happen, either.

It looks like Herm may have been abandoned by his government cronies!  45 years....yikes!

Now the Federal Government has finally stepped in.  I guess that I'm surprised, yet not surprised that Bobbie had a hand in this.  Too bad.

Just wait till the IRS gets its day in court.

He may have been able to wiggle out of the state charges.. I’m not sure he is going to be able to escape the feds. Will def be interested to see this all play out.

and so the butts seated at city council wanted so badley to keep paying them , to provide benefits and pensions

So how many of these gifters will appear on the list or had accounts  that the supposed accused  kept in secret ?

Big Bonuses, Vast Powers and Corruption Charges: 5 Takeaways from an Investigation into DuBois’ Herm Suplizio – GantNews.com

Yes, they all deserve their day in court to answer the questions of the people and defend themselves from the charges levied. Now that Election Day and Thanksgiving has passed (which shouldn't have anything to do with anything) let it ALL come down. Gant Daily has done some 'real' journalism on this. It's sad so few journalists exist. Again and I stress, they deserve their day in court. We The People absolutely deserve answers as well.

State of Pennsylvania withdrawing charges against Suplizio to allow the Feds to pave the way for Federal prosecution.

Not really sure of why this is happening. Maybe they have more charges on others that may not of been state charges but federal.

ITs now going to get ugly x10 in Dubois. People want the abusers in jail.  And now the State whiffs.

No.  The State didn't whiff. The State charges were merged with the Federal charges and an Assistant from the State Attorney's general Office was appointed as a Special Assistant To the US Attorney General's Staff to work with them on the case. No charges were dropped, just merged with the Federal Charges.
