None of the questions are worth answering.  Should anyone dare to answer with anything positive, you would consider them to be stupid.
I do feel a bit sad for you, but no doubt contributed highly to your situation.  I feel sad for you that you think your life sucks and that you believe you don't count for anything. (Why else would you ask these questions?)
Is my my life perfect?  Probably not, but it far from sucks.  I have a great wife of about 40 years, 3 great, successful kids,  and some grandkids running around.  Not rich, but financially sound.  I don't have everything I want, but have more than I need.  In reasonable good health, barring a few aches and pains and the general wear and tear of getting older.  Have a modest number of (nearly) life-long friends with whom I can share a drink, meal, and a laugh or two.
I may not matter much in the the grand scheme of things.  Nothing I have done altered the history of mankind.  Surely, within 50 years after my death I will be largely fogotten.  However, at this time, I count for those people I call friends and family.  And they count for me.
No doubt you will call me delusional or some other attempt at a derogatory term.  It matters not.  You can wander off into your pit of gloom, doom, and woe.

Generally speaking, an elected official with 'financial interests' does turn out too well.

I certainly can pick the middle.  It allows me to not select a side.  I dont need to pick a side, especialky when both sides make absolutely no sense and offer nothing more than hot air to try and convince me.

Actually, we will never know the truth.  You either believe the national media or you believe the tik-tokkers and youtubers looking for likes and clicks (as well as the ones using just using it as another opportunity to show their t*ts).
Neither is a reliable source of information.

Moving here, I was an unbiased observer.  I had no allegence to either.  Never intended to stay here this long.  What I saw was 2 entities that are bound as a single entity..neither able to survive without the other.  Instead of trying to cooperate, they chose to waste taxpayer money over literally $hit.  Neither party is or was the innocent victim of the other.  This entire area would be much better off if they didnt see each other as the enemy.

Could try JB Weld.  Follow the directions, especially the clamping.  I used it on an outdoor gate latch and it held for years.

    $270,000 seems quite excessive.
It is kind of a catch 22.  Since he has not been proven guilty, let's assume he was operating within his contracted and legal capacity.  He would expect the City to defend his actions as an employee. Of course, his tax evasion charges defense should be funded by him.  If he is found guilty, part of his sentencing should be to pay back the city.
I do find it concerning the AG and government can confiscate your assests before you are proven guilty.  Freeze, yes.
The solicitor was wrong to state the city was paying legal bills because he had no money.  She made it sound as a personal thing.

As an outsider who ended up here about 3 decades ago, I have observed nastiness and stupidity from both sides.  The first 20 years I recall city and township suing each other non-stop over sewage.
Lived in Sandy since I arrived.  DuBois it is.  No one has a clue where Sandy Township is, unless you live here.  At least the name DuBois is recognized beyond 30 miles.

I don't know all the functions of the solicitor, such as who she would required to represent first.  They are generally resopnsible to both the mayor and city council.  Is it the citizen's interest or the actions of the local government?  It probably gets messier due to friendships and other connections.  Typically, city attorneys handle civil matters...tax codes, ordinances, etc...and not criminal matters.  Not sure it would be ethical to represent both Suplizio personally and the city as a hired city attorney considering a huge conflict of interest.  So far, I have not  heard of involvement of any other lawyers.  As a city council member or even an employee of city offices, I would probably already have a lawyer on retainer and not depend on the city government to defend me.

Now that's the DuBois and Sandy way!  Let's see if we can screw the other over!  Why work to actually improve the area when you can aim to seek vengance.
Seriously, though, the influx of 'outsiders', migration of DuBoisians into Sandy, and the relatively few of the younger generation who desire to stay in the area, realize for the area to thrive the need is to cooperate.
Fortunately, the old fossils who prefer the 'old ways' of division, resentment, and adverserial actions are being 'replaced'.
